okay, the Hauberk and Defender shield both have 40 durability, 3 AP, and +3 defense.
yet the Hauberk costs nearly twice as much! and requires a higher level to use!
why does one cost significantly more than the other, while giving no additional bonuses? |

| still means more people buying defender shields instead of hauberks, makes hauberks not as good option (economically) compared to def shields. |
| I think it's a matter of having both of them in combination along with the Chain Helmet and a good Sword. That's a lot of defense. I agree, there are lots of things in this game which are unbalanced. |
| From a manufacturing perspective an elaborate shield is simple compared to chain mail. Notice also that plate steel is much better value than mail. |
