+1 attack gets added to your creature with that ability (swordsman) |
it is not always +1 that gets added to your stack. It depends on the size of the stack and the importance of the stack. When a higher level or larger stack gets killed your swords rage will go up more than if a 1 peasant stack were to get killed.
To effectively use the rage of the swordsman keep them in one large stack and try to keep them til the end of the battle. Usually that's not too hard because they are tanks and people tend to target your other troops first anyway. I haven't checked recently, but I know that when I was around level 5 my swords would have a rage of +6 by the end of the battle. The swords are in fact one of the knights most important units until crossbows (and even then in many circumstances, especially when fighting lots of ranged troops they are still at level 8). They are usually the last stack killed in battle and because of their large numbers (I have 61) they are a formidable foe even though they are only a tier 3 creature. |
