Author | Rules Interpretation Advice 3.8 to 3.10.1 |
I firstly want to state for the record, that my query is not based on any intent to possibly exploit these rules, but from observations of other players/IDs. But at the same time I am not (quite) prepared to report this to Admin. I require some clarifications first. Should I report the matter I would like to be sure of some facts first.
The scenario is this.
There are 2 IDs. Each states they are independent players in their profile, but that they use the same IP Address. <This may or may not be a scam. Note however it is a rules obligation to do this, but one of the "IDs" is less than reputable from personal experience>.
I have witnessed these 2 IDs work together in Hunts and Hunt Assists.
Rules 3.8.1 and 3.9 Suggests that it is prohibited for 2 players/IDs from the one computer to assist in combats (I guess that included hunts).
However assuming the 2 IDs in this scenrario are genuinely 2 different players, there may still be an issue of same IP Address being 2 different home computers on the same home network.
So what I want to know is
1. Could the same IP address possibly mean 2 or more home computers on a home network?
2. What would be the rule for people/IDs assisting each other on multiple computers in a household?
3. Is it a loophole for a player to assist herself by using 2 different home computers?
Depending on answers I may also have some follow up questions.

1. Could the same IP address possibly mean 2 or more home computers on a home network?
If 2 different people run 2 different computers through fixed router than they both end up on same IP.
2. What would be the rule for people/IDs assisting each other on multiple computers in a household?
If its 2 different people it needs to be stated in profiles and why they are on same IP.
3. Is it a loophole for a player to assist herself by using 2 different home computers?
From my own personal experience, 2 different players on the same IP are still BANNED from battling together, however...They can still transfer between them AS long as the transfers are for market price at the time. No higher No lower. |
i have a coworker that occasionally plays from work like I. We share the same IP but are on two different PC's. When we were similiar levels we avoided hunting together because that rule seems open to admin interpretation and could possibly result in a ban. But we have group dueled sometimes on same team sometimes against one another. This imo is okay because as long as you random the teams you cant stacked anything that could be considered shady. Also as masterTI stated if they are transfer items back and forth verify that they are doing so at fair market price.
BUT they must state they are two different people and are on two different PC's. and a small explanation why they share an IP. |
Thank you MasterTI and Dracooner. I have the information and advice I needed.
I will be locking the topic
