TGI Insurance

AuthorTGI Insurance
Shouldn't some kind of insurance be provided by the Admins in case the TGI that we rent is not returned by that player. Apart from banning that player shouldn't the leaser be given some monetary compensation (I mean around 200k) from the fine that is imposed? If the borrower doesnt have the money to pay the fine then shouldn't a new TGI be given to the leaser?
there's risk in any bussiness
If you don't want to take the risk , sell the invite , don't rent it. Like in real life, if you want to do investments with greater profit margin - you have to accept a bigger risk chance. I don't see why this should be different here.
Noone forces you to lease your TGI and you are warned beforehand for the risks involved.
Suppose an investor lends money in a firm. If the company becomes bankrupt part of the money that is obtained from liquidating its resources go to the government (they extract their taxes and all), a part to the lenders and part to the shareholders..
Me as a TGI renter should get a part of the compensation after the admins take 600k from the player.. Why shouldn't I? Aren't the admins or the Empire a self fulfilling economy and government?
how is a deal between you and another player the respondsibility of the admin?
There are two kinds of deals everywhere. One is the Over The Counter (OTC) deal and another is a centralized deal. If I am having a deal with another player through PM and no contact with admins then it is a one-on-one issue and the admins needn't do anything in case i lose out..
But suppose I am showing the deal to the admins (through the forums) and specifically getting the approval that the deal is in tune with all the game rules, then shouldn't they give us some kind of insurance cover?

Its like buying equities from a stock exchange where there is a monetaring authority and it safeguards our interest.. There is no safeguarding of our interest here! Except that the guy might be blocked.. The Empire is getting money due to that default, but against whom has the default been conducted? Renter.. Then why not?

Its like court putting a fine of a particular amount on a person for committing fraud against a particular person and then not giving even a cent of that fine to the person against whom the fraud has been committed.. Makes sense now?

Me as a TGI renter should get a part of the compensation after the admins take xxx from the player

The transaction is between you and the player. So when was the Empire involved? Did you pay taxes to the Empire on income earned from your personal lending?

To add on to your idea of "TGI insurance", what if Empire rolled out a "TGI insurance scheme"? Cos so far, the only form of protection offered to TGI leasers are through the Thief Syndicate Clan (some free advert here..) https://www.lordswm.com/clan_info.php?id=7330
what i don't understand. i heard that earlier somebody approved his/her tgi agreement by admins and in this case they supported the borrower. the player how had rented the tgi had been banned because of broke any rules and the borrower had lost his/her tgi . the borrower sent a message to admins whos give to him/her another tgi.
6: Your examples are based on specific legislation. You are in X situation with Y well-defined set of laws applying. Knowing Y well you can make your choices. Y is defined like this for some reason ( in this game: most likely to avoid loopholes that can be abused ). In order to suggest a change in Y you need first to understand well why Y was selected in the first place. Until you do that , any kind of proposal to change Y is pointless. And as long as Y applies , there is nothing you can do about it.

Phew wish you would try to understand the analogies i have been trying to give before bumping with this question.. Why can't I have a contract which says this:

1. You must return the TGI within 4 weeks or you will be fined 600000, half of which will go to the Empire and the remaining will go to me. In case you don't have that many funds, half of the funds will go to the Empire and the rest half will go to me, plus you shall be banned.
2. Give both your thief arts when you reach lvl 2
3. You must not rent or sell the TGI to anyone

What is so insane in this?

I said before:

"If the company becomes bankrupt part of the money that is obtained from liquidating its resources go to the government (they extract their taxes and all), a part to the lenders and part to the shareholders.."

What loophole do you find in this contract?

Imo, you are correct based on your implicit assumptions, that that the Empire should safeguard your interests, as inferred from post #6. However, for your contract to hold, Empire must accept to your terms as well.

However, this is not the case, as the Empire's stand is already explicitly stated:
3.17. The Administration does not take responsibility for the unreturned debts and does not guarantee compensation in case of swindling by other players. When a loan is not returned in time, (the time must be written in the transfer logs, no more than a month) the swindler will be imposed a penalty of a sum twice as much. If the term isn't posted in the transfer logs, the penalty will occur 1 month after the loan transaction. The creditor does not get compensation.

Additionally, based on your analogy, the assumption is that Empire takes over the assets of the defrauder. Unfortunately, the legal loophole here is that Empire merely punishes by imposing a penalty, and thus if she pays, it'll have to come out of her coffers. While you make mention of this in clause 1. of post 10 to bypass this "defiency", the onus is thrown onto the Empire to accept the conditions of the contract before you can hold her accountable. And then, this (unfortunately) goes back to 3.17, the Empire's stand..
"half of which will go to the Empire and the remaining will go to me"

When someone has 0 gold, he is not fined 600 000, he is blocked. You can have half of his block. If he had 600 000, he would rather give you 400k instead of being blocked. Otherwise you are just getting free Empire money.
In my eyes the Empire's sole interest is in preventing people from having unwarranted gains, this happens by deterring cheaters with high punishments and make people more careful how and with whom they trade and to this end compensating loses from arbitrary risky deals is counterproductive.

If you really want an insurance make a private one, find people who also want an insurance and have them pool part of their TGI-profits to compensate for losses.
What you want isn't even an insurance, you want that the Empire enforces your claims against other players, that's rather the institution of civil law.
Empire will never offer insurance. Players can't even give insurance because it is against the rules. The only legal option for insurance is for a clan to sell insurance. Apparently admins don't have or enforce the same rules on clans.
renting tgi on big lvl guys is lower risk they probably wont risk their game for that
