AuthorHunt has changed?
Two times now i see that when you almost done with a hunt, npc mobs increase their speed movement (!!!) and this make it very difficult. Why that? Also, why dont you make an announcement thread so we can read every time what changes have been maded.
it's not new. after each ten turns neutral creatures increas their speed. t'was always like this.
Really? I saw that first time today. Never saw that again. Thnx for the reply my friend.
my pleasure

it's becouse else some troops (shrews, i'm looking at you) could kill incredible amounts of some creatures...
Im barbarian and i was hunting demons with a friend. Before we kill them all demons increased speed from 5 to 6 and then to 7!!! You can see my battle. We didnt made more then 20 turns.

there was a topic about mobs increasing rapidly
so with the rate that hunts increase numbers in mobs and the movement increase means we wont be able to hunt some groups of monsters even when calling assistance,...
it is all about the meaning of "turn", you see..

A turn isn't necessarily the time lapse between two movements of your hero, but a fixed amount of time. In one turn, according to initiative parameter, a hero or a unit can have more or less than 1 movement.

You can check this out by reading repeatedly the effects of a duration spell on a creature (CTRL-click 2 times on it); there, it will tell you how long the spell will last in turn units.

So, if it says "3.8", you know that when it gets to "2.8" one turn has elapsed. And you will have an idea of the duration of a turn :)
We didnt made more then 20 turns.

Yes you did. 22 turns, in fact.
hmmm... i watched your battle and i can't see something fishy... everything seems quite normal to me...

could you please give a link to there was a topic about mobs increasing rapidly

ahhh... sorry, i missunderstud you. the linked topic is about numbers increasing - i thought first that you ment speed increase.

so to stay on topic: No, there was nothing wrong with your battle. it's perfectly normal the way it worked.

oh no sorry to confuse you,.. we already have a hard time about creature count increasing,.. so the question was is the speed increasing to? does this mean we wont hunt??? (to make it clear for the rest of readers,. sorry for repost)

but obviously speed is not a new thing ,. the increasing numbers is a question for discussion,.. thanks again
The increasing numbers were always here. The speed increase is a more recent update(about 3 months ago).
What is definately gone are the "free hunts", where the numbers didnt raise and you could hunt less creatures than your current maximum. That was undone with "the news from the court" update I think.
I do not know the rogues and shrews, maybe the speed increased too ??
I too have a problem with the percentage of increase in numbers when you have a successful hunt against a given creature. 30% increase is just ridiculous! I understand that the game should be challenging but a 30 increase is too much. Who came up with this arbitrary figure?

I feel that a 10% increase after a successful would be more fair if developers want people to continue enjoying the game. I know that the increase after an assisted hunt is at 10% ... so why can't the increase after a solo successful hunt be at the same rate of increase?

I love doing the hunts, but understand that soon I won't be able to have a successful hunt at all, even with assistance.
The thing about exponential increase is that a slight change in the factor makes a HUGE difference. For example, after 44 hunts, with a 20% increase each time, 10 bowmen becomes number 30477. A fairly large number, but anyone who's hunted bowmen 44 times must be a pretty high level anyway. Note that this is compared to 1 million for a 30% increase factor, 663 for 10%.

So a 10% increase is probably way too small. I'd say a more balanced number is ~20%.
Well, when you beat a hunt by getting assistance the creatures only increase 10% if you win. So if you start getting assistance for hunts it will take a long time before you reach the unkillable with assistance limit.

I did solo hunts for huge amount of time ( i think through levels 6-> almost end of 11 i didn't ever ask for help - though during levels 6-7 i played with old rules and didnt get huge increase in everything ). When i was going close to level 12 it became apparent that hunts were increasing too much to be handled ( even with level up i could do alone only 1-2 more hunts per creature at best ) so i switched over to regular assistance. It's quite ok this way - with a good hunt partner i can do almost every creature many more times above my current personal records.

The game is team oriented, and this increase was probably meant to boost teamwork.
it is not always 10% increase, theres a formula

The amount of growth in case of victory: N=n*1.69^f
n = original amount in hunt
N = new amount net time
f = factions skill points that the main hunter gained during the hunt
According to this formular, the effect is almost the same, at least for the main hunter. The creatures increase a bit less so that you can do more hunts, but then, you earn less faction points each time and have to do more hunts to be even. Approximately.

However, I do admit that if people assist one another, the overall effect is more favorable, since the assistant hunter gains points without the undesirable effect of hunt increase. The only drawback is that group hunts take considerably longer than solo hunts.

I look at the combat records of the top players, and it's depressing. At their current level, many of them are losing more than half of their battles. Everything is too difficult. Hunts are too difficult; quests are too difficult; ambushes are too difficult. You folks really have my admiration. You keep on going. When I get to that point where everything is that difficult, it would stop being fun for me, and I'd probably just quit the game. Or maybe that's a good thing. I actually should have quitted this game 9 levels ago. This game is wrecking my social life. :(

But seriously, those of you who don't think this is a big deal, you probably have no intention of reaching level 14 or 15. Maybe the Admins never thought someone is crazy enough to get this far. Maybe that's why on the current player list, you can only query for players from level 1 to 12.
According to the formula if main hunter kills half the creatures the increase is 14%. That's VERY far from 30% considering the exponential increase. And cooperative hunts have huge benefit compared to solo stuff because you can work as a team and focus your damage when needed to certain stacks.

And about the keep going thing- yes it is getting harder and harder but there are things you can do still to move on, even like this. Hunts with assistance are far from becoming impossible still ( maybe on some creatures some players start getting close but no way on all the huntable stuff we have at the moment ) - MG raid and monster quests are still rather easy in general and of course thieves guild is doable because of its mechanism ( caravan becomes easier when you lose ). There is also always PvP, though not many people to fight with, at high levels.

New creatures to hunt will be ( when they come ) a very good boost for everyone :) [ Just the extra creatures that are already in .ru would give at least 100-150 solo hunts to every high level player total ]
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
