This refers to doubling your bet every time you lose, this way you always win your initial bet, when you eventually win, but this only works if you can always double your bet, which is prevented by a cap on bets and the amount of money you have.
In a more general approach you can use martingales to prove under the assumption that the bets are somehow limited that in roulette (with 0) in every turn your money decreases in expectation if you place a positive bet. |

2nd dozen 33% 3x payoff
3rd dozen 33% 3x payoff
put on 1st & 2nd or any combination for 66% and a 1.5x payoff
u can also put money on straight up every single number except 1-4 and have a huge chance of winning XD well.. depends on limits and all that |
| the other issue is having enough gold to continue doubling. a streak of bad luck can easily make ur next bet go up to some huge number. |
