I joined into tournament, earn ~1600 exp and die. I look at my lvl and:
» Combat level: 3 (16331) +-1331
What's up? | that's because of the tournament.
the tournament system doesn't allow levelling up from fighting the mastermind swarms, this is to ensure that you get to play all 7 attempts in your current level.
if you however play any other battle, be it hunt, duel, merc quest group battle, you will level up to lv4
once in lv 4, you can start playing the tournament again for 7 attempts.
