how could this be
hydra has an ini of 7,8 and my swords has 8,6 but hydra are bevor of my swords...

the initial ini was plus minus with some bonus else it would hard to determine which stack go 1st if both has some ini.
so, perhaps your sm get some minus bonus and hydra got some plus bonus, there you go. sm slower than hydra |

it can be +/- 10% for both.
hydra +10% = 8,5
swords -10% = 7,8 |

the troops are randomised by 10% ini
so going by that, 10% of 8.6 = 0.86
and 10% of 1.8 = 0.78
that acting in favour of the hydra gives it an earlier turn |
| Wait, I think this is misleading. The 10% means you start at random(0, 1), not means you gain 10% more speed. |
additional to my post,
even the 1st turn will slower, but after that, the ini will become normal and your sm will faster than hydra |

At the beginning each stack gets a random bonus from 0 to 10% on the accumulated initiative for the first turn. So if hydra gets the maximal and swordsman the minimal bonus the hydra gets its turn earlier (7.8 / 0.9 = 8.66 > 8.6). |
