Author | Hunter assist block ability |
This may have been brought up before so excuse me if it has.
I would like to have a hunter assist block ability just like the block PM ability.
We have all had:
1. players who go AFK( some for revenge no doubt)
2. players who are slow and drag out the battle
3. exp hogs
4. players who will not co-operate with a request
5. players you flat out don't like
I recently had a hunt and politely asked if the DE could set his shrews in the center( valid reasoning was given) and was told no. Fine, I couldn't force him to help out in that area BUT I don't want to hunt with him again for sure. It would be nice to just block a player from your hunts.
Sometimes your regular hunt partners are unavailable and you get stuck with whoever shows up. For these times, it would be great to at least have the assurance that bad hunt partners couldn't join your hunt.
To the usual suspects who continually post to rip apart ideas, don't bother. A plus or a minus will do, thank you.
And yes, I realize I could and would be on block lists so no need to state that. I don't hunt with players I don't like anyway so it doesn't matter to me. |

You covered one point. That's why I want a hunt block, for players like you. |
You covered one point.
It's called a strawman.

Ok, yeah, I know, that was off topic.
And anyways, it's a good idea (in my opinion), because it makes people learn to act smart (and not AFK). It also makes people be nicer, or quit helping hunts.
Even then, an apology to the person you hunted always helps.
Plus, it's the asker's risk if he blocks too many people and gets NO ONE to help. |

well if someone has a strategy i don't like i'd put him into my hunt blacklist :) |

I agree.
I helped in a hunt last week and played poorly, causing a loss in my opinion.
I felt very bad and transferred a hunter hat to the player to make up for his art loss and wasted hunt. That player gave me a pass and even transferred gold to me for the hat, probably because I apologized and admitted my bad play cost us. A couple times I joined a hunt where the player went AFK and that is PAINFUL waiting for the clock to run down and then getting hacked to pieces by yourself. Those players promptly apologized and that is all one can ask. I would not block anyone who asked forgiveness for AFK. Without an apology, they would surely go on a block list, should we ever get one :P |
for Pentagon:
well if someone has a strategy i don't like i'd put him into my hunt blacklist :)
Exactly! That's the whole point of having the option.
The example I listed about shrews was this:
Shrews draw enemy stacks to them so I wanted the helper to set them in the center so the stacks would be in range of my center orc chiefs. When they are in the corner, monsters begin to move diagonally right away and it is hard to drag your stacks across the board to help your partner. Also because they move this way, many times my ogres can't reach them until much too late. It makes a mess of the battle field. Shrews can always go back to the corner after drawing the monsters to the center. This is just my preference and some DEs may not like it but that is exactly why I want a hunt help block list. I want to enjoy the battle and be successful with a co-operative hunt partner.
Sometimes my wolves are the draw and I always place them in the center for the reasons I gave above, asking my partner to place his shooters in the center along with my orc chiefs so we can have maximum damage on multiple stacks. |
Usually what I do is have a few hunting partners. Find one that is online at the time and ask them. A hunting partner is great as you can set out the rules with them and help each other out whenever you are both online. The great thing about it is you choose your own hunting partner so most people will choose someone they know aren't going to break your rules or your mutual agreement!
Sounds much easier than programming in a hunting blacklist right? :) |

At higher levels your available help is much thinner and I already stated that this was for those times when your regular partners were offline. I have 4 partners but of course there are times they arent on. |
