In history if you study dictatorships(in modern times), the dictator takes control of the media. Sometimes he jails people critical of him or even has them murdered.
Stalin went so far as to have paintings of politicians redone to erase those he disposed of. Chavez is the latest dictator in the making. He went right after newspapers and TV stations to shut down dissent. These people may be very powerful but on the inside they are cowards because they can't stand anyone opposing their policy. Throughout Africa strongmen in charge are the same way. Castro did these things as well.
Slowly, the West is losing their freedom of speech as political correctness has people afraid to speak out against certain groups. Those in the EU who deny the Holocaust can and are jailed! That is insanity! If people want to deny history so be it..but jail?
