Alright, I know this has been discussed many times. But the simple truth is if AFKers are banned for 12 hours, they CANNOT join PvP or interrupt others. Obviously this is for lower levels... I mean I have a level filter one here, so I don't see the terrible AFKers, but on .ru I've seen players joining battles with -4 luck. It's hideous.
So- the idea:
If a player AFKs and the player's team loses (loses, because if they win, the AFK just benefits the teamates, for more experience and skill points):
-Regular 2 hour -2 luck penalty
-Banned from PvP for 12 hours
-If AFK is repeated within 24 hours after the penalty ends, the next penalty is 6 hours longer (Note this resets if the streak is broken).
-Can only play in an "AFK" battle. These would be for those banned from regular play by the AFK penalty. Regular players can join at there own risk (filter for these fights also).
For all those talking about people with connection problems:
-Honestly, in the 20 seconds it takes for each move to be made, in a high level battle (the ones where AFK _is_ from connection problems) there are so many stacks, and one players' stacks are usually rather spread out, so that they should be able to reconnect before they go AFK. If not, it's tough love. After all, some people want games with NO AFK, whether the AFK is from bored, having to lose, or connection problems- maybe they don't want to play with those with a bad connection.

Lose 10xp*2^X, where X is your combat level
Then distribute the XP with team mates.
For example, a level 10 afking in a 3v3 battle:
loses 10*1024=10240xp
Team mate gets 5120 xp each (and most likely lose the battle and lose arts durability)

Gets exp for what? | We have been talking about this multiple times. You cant give others exp for afk players, not enemies, not friends, because it could be abused soo much.
Anyway Xerfer`s idea does look good on the paper but: blah, blah, afk penalty wont change, blah, blah, it has been suggested many times, blah, get used to it, (especially when thieving lasts 20 minutes) if you dont like afk try finding some warrior guild guys to fight. Did I miss something?
Now you dont have just a hard time finding ANY level 11 to fight, but you have to check his clan first, but it doesnt tell you anything because ALL clans have "never afk rule", but almost none of them enforce it. | -1 not good idea because ban for pvp ... | 7:
Already, there are few level 11 players- only around 100? And then only some are online. To put them all in a clan is expensive. And are many level 11 players in the warrior's guild? Surely not, I never see warrior's guild listed on their pages.
Most PvP battles are just random matchups- there aren't enough players to discriminate.
Anyways this is not about level 11. This is about levels 1-8 or so. And level 1-5, you don't have thieving- that's irrelevant. The point of this is to make it easier to get a match without an AFK in it. No to force everyone into a clan.... | I agree with this one. This would not only prevent afks in pvp, but also make sure the low level newbies hunt more and enroll more (since they can't pvp for those 12 hours)
I suggest the 12 hour pvp ban be 12 online hours. Any time spent offline does not count to the ban. | But for me =0
Because I less join in group battle on 9 lvl, with bad connection...
With low levels I can fight, because battle so faster... | -1 | ok i agree but it sound a little stick because sometimes it can be helped
example: bad weather, lost connection etc. and keeping the -2 luck dosn't make a lot of sense because they can't do any pvp battles any way and should'nt affect them much in a map battle any way | :p this is just like 0% penalty for me but bad one for thieves :O I never duel :p | WHy not we just go on with life? So, theres a few afkers, you ban those with connection probs too?
COMMON, i get connection problems rather often and it is because of the flash player. So maybe, we should all not an for 12 hours.
CAUSE REMEMBER, if someone wants to afk, he can afk for the nex 24 hours from his comp. Its no problem.
IF i afk in a battle and its at night, i would go to sleep. 12 ours later, i am back online. So whats the point? | To 6:
If someone goes afk in a PvP team battle, the team WILL most likely lose.
So to compensate for this loss, annoyance and wasting their precious artefacts durability, the afker losses XP and give it to his teammates. | +1 but ban only from pvp | very good idea | -1 | No to force everyone into a clan....
I was not going to. I was repeating the universal closing answer for everyone trying to solve this problem.
Also I dont think it is fair and needed to count only the online time. You want to put afkers out of pvp for some time, not to force them into dull staring at computer for 12 hours. Just imagine me with pvp penalty for 12 hours that I have to spend ONLINE. Thieving - frustrating and impossible. Hunts - red and impossible. Merc - have to refuse 10 to get one.. |
