I believe that not everyone would want to learn since very few places in the US or even in the world (outside of Russia or the former Soviet Union) teach russian.
English is taught in many many countries as it is a globally accepted language of trade and communication. French and Chinese are 2 other common languages that people do learn.
Given that, it's not uncommon to find English speakers, but harder to find Russian speakers that are not too old (People that lived through WWII or the Cold War between US and Russian may know Russian, but they are 40-50 years old by now) |
