AuthorLUCK OR MORALE BETTER?!?!??!
At combat level 8 I went mostly for Expert Fortune. Still, I considered Rally (which requires Basic Leadership) when I was fighting magic troops (e.g., magi). So, generally, at combat level 8 I would suggest Expert Fortune.
I think generally for DE morale is better and for Elf luck

True.

Reason: DE has no-retaliation units (shrews, hydras) while elves don't (sprites don't really count in the majority of situations at higher levels). So elves have to hit big, DEs can hit more times (they don't get killed by many retaliations).
Morale:
T = 0 --- morale trigger, chance to trigger drop by x%
T = 0.5 --- morale doesn't trigger chance to trigger raise by x%
T = 1.5 --- morale trigger chance is back to normal and triggered once. Third chance to trigger comes at T = 1.5.

Let me see if I can explain better.

For an example, let's say you have a stack with 2 morale. For simplicity, assume it has 10 initiative, so that it moves once per unit of time (let's call it a round).

Now, let's say this stack's turn comes 10 times. Normally, without morale, this comes over 10 rounds. But with morale, 2 of these 10 times get morale trigger and cost only half a round each. So your 10 turns cost you only 9 rounds, a 10% reduction.

I hope that's clear.

I still don't agree.

you forgot to count that the free round granted by the two morale triggers also has a chance to trigger morale.

In 10 rounds, a creature with 10 ini and 2 morale will act 11.1 times.
2 morale in this case grants 11.1% extra turns.
each morale point gives 11.1/2 = 5.55% extra turns.

If the creature had 5 morale, it would have acted 14.5 times.
Thats 45% extra turns. Each morale point giving 8% extra turns.

The higher your morale value, the more benefits you get from each morale point.
\edit
giving 8% extra turns.
giving 9% extra turns
use talkant and have luck + 3 then start use morale rings:) best way :) so its 3 morale and 3 luck :) perfecto lol
luck is better for elves and morale is better for everyone else

Your first calculation is correct. But it's just an inverted way of saying that your turns are shortened by 10%.

Your second calcuation is not even correct. With 5 morale, it would act only 1.33 times, not 14.5 times.

The time reduction is linear. But you invert it to compute extra turns instead, so of course the increase is no longer linear. 33% more turns is the same as 25% shorter turns.

But I do see the validity of your reasoning. So that's what you meant by stacking. 33% more means extra 6.6% per morale point.

So let's see what we have. Note that this is an academic exercise only. Let's pit a 5-Luck Titan against a 5-Morale Titan.

0 Luck, 0 Morale: You attack 10 times in 10 rounds, doing 100% damage and 100% retaliation, and receive 100% retaliation

5 Luck: You attack 10 times in 10 rounds, doing 150% damage and 150% retaliation, and receive 100% retaliation

5 Morale: You attack 13.3 times in 10 rounds, doing 133% damages and 100% retaliation (your opponent attacks you only 10 times), and receives 100% retaliation (3.3 of your attacks are second attacks and not retaliable).

Of course, in a real battle, a lot of other things come into play. Your stack dies off over time, so damage in the end will be much less in the beginning. You're unlikely to last 10 rounds of battle. There are other opponents, so extra retaliations from Morale will come in handy. When Luck triggers and you kill off opponent stack, you won't take any retaliation. If Luck does more damage than the opponent can take, the extra damage is wasted. If Morale triggers, but you get killed before the next quick turn, then Morale is wasted. Blah blah blah.

But stripped of all external factors, it's hard to argue that Morale is better with these numbers.

Why do you think an Amulet of Luck is more expensive than a Medal of Bravery?
