| Okay so this is a story of the era before Lords of War and Money's current times.Any feedback,complaints or suggestions just PM me or post it here.Anyways,let's start! | Before current times,the factions were also VERYYYYY different.So this part is about their explanations and such.
Faction:Arcanum

Description:The forerunners of the Wizards,Arcanums study magick in it's purest form and manifest it to it's upmost limits.These people believe that they are the only civilized beings in the Realm and consider the rest barbarians.

Description:In The Before Era,demons haven't arrived in the Realms yet and were in another plane,the Underlords were their pawns and responsible for bringing them in.Underlords are violent and ruthless warriors.

Description:The anscestors of the elves,Geramons were highly secretive and live in forests,in tune with nature.However,enter their territory and you may never come back alive........

Description:A race of beings who are in some ways similar to Humans.The Meephis live in tribes and are extremely warlike.They do not rely on magic but sheer numbers and skill with the blade to win.

Description:Formerly part of the Arcanum,they broke off from that faction and were the founders of necromancy.Abalnis are a new faction compared to the others and has always struggled to gain dominance.
Units:Sludges,Cadavers,Sithics,Skull Golems,Shadow Sithics

Alright!Now we've managed to differentiate who's who,the story will begin! | | The veridian hissed,"I would kill you and this would end here."Pudoz said,"I've got different plans,dark one."and spread his mana around his whole body and cast a spell.His whole body sent out lightning which injured the veridier fatally.The veridier fell to the floor and his black blood spilled out.Pudoz was starting to faint himself,spellcasting can create a toll on your body and his fingertips glowed again.He blasted the veridier with another beam.This one ended the veridier's struggles and blood spattered on the walls.With the last of his energy,Pudoz sent an SOS signal with his aura and allowed himself to succumb to unconsiousness.
The respected member of the Geramon High Council,Veel'Yelk said to the well-known Warrior,Hork with urgency in his tone.He said,"Hork,I have a mission for you.Bear in mind this mission is of utmost importance."Hork said,"I understand Sire."Veel continued,"A few days ago,a runner called Gaden dissapeared.He was last reported at the Hellspawn Slopes."Hork narrowed his eyes and asked,"I don't understand Sire.How is a missing runner important?"Veel replied,"You see,this runner was supposed to bring us information on the Underlords.We have suspected them of trying to summon a great force into this land.Now go."Hork bowed and left.
The mindless Cadavers reanimated by Abalnises tried to fend off the Pawns to the best of their abbility.The Abalnis leader of this squad of Cadavers was called,Mighast.He observed in shock as his Cadavers were beaten back.Constant attacks from opposing Factions were an ordinary circumstance in The Before Era(the time where the story takes place and the time before the current time)but never had a force of Pawns this large attacked the Abalnises.Mighast slashed his sword at a Pawn that had gotten too close to him.Next,he raised a few Cadavers from the dead but the outcome was inevitable.The Pawns were too numerous and overwhelmed the Cadavers.Mighast knew what to do.He had to flee and report back to the Elders.This was important news,if the Underlords were waging war with them,the Abalnis would be ready.
Meanwhile,the fifteen Veridiers were standing on a magical sign they had made which boosted their magical capabilities.The veridiers muttered magical words feverishly and their hands were aglow with a sickly green light.Their fingers were constantly moving,casting gestures in the air.Soon,very soon,the Demons would arrive and engulf the world with chaos........
Pudoz awoke in a chamber filled with magical symbols on the walls and the ground.In front of him stood an armoured mage.Pudoz realized he was in an Interrogation Room.The symbols were to prevent those interrogated from casting spells.The mage said,"You are Pudoz Milwalki?"Pudoz nodded and the mage continued,"Last night,you sent an SOS signal which the local millitia picked up.When they arrived,you were unconsious and a dead veridier was beside you.Explain."Pudoz told the mage everything and the mage nodded.When Pudoz was finished,the mage said,"Okay,you may go."Pudoz walked out of the room and back to his house.
The veridier's corpse was removed but other than that nothing much had changed.Suddenly,an animated paper aeroplane swooped down on his lap.In it was a message.When Pudoz had finished reading it,his brows shot up until you could barely see them.The war was about to begin. | Hork had been wandering around the Hellspawn Slopes for days yet he found no trace of Gaden.Hork could have simply tried a Search Spell.Albeit mana-draining,it could have finished the job easier yet the earth in the Hellspawn Slopes contain a mineral that disables the utilization of magic.
Hork heard a growl and a brigade of Pawns charged at him.Hork raised his twin scimitars and braced himself for an attack.The Pawns,all armed with spears and axes were endless and attacked Hork without a care in the world.Against the sheer numbers,Hork could barely manage to defend himself.Hork began to tire as the attacks grew more and more ruthless and skillful.Hork was deflecting an axe from a Pawn when another attacked with a spear from his back.The spear stabbed through Hork's leg and he fell.The Pawns started battering Hork which,by now was nothing more than a punching bag to the Pawns.He fainted a few minutes later.
Mighast was startled that the Flesh Brutes found him so quickly.After being given a mission by the Abalnis King,he had spent a week travelling in the mountains to avoid detection,hoping to reach his destination in time.Yet,here he was surrounded by three Flesh Brutes ready to tear his guts out.
Mighast cast a quick spell created by the Abalnis to pinpoint if skeletons or remains of the dead were around in the area.Mighast found out that this area was a former Meephis graveyard.Mighast grinned and cast a Mass Reanimation Spell.Cadavers soon rose from their former burial spots to defend their new master.Two Flesh Brutes were quickly brought down by the Cadavers before they could reach Mighast yet the third one easily swatted through all the Cadavers,ending their pact with Mighast.The Cadavers then fell into pieces once the magic was broken.The Flesh Brute grinned and charged at Mighast.
Hork awoke to find himself sleeping on the ground around a bonfire."You finally awoke."a Meephis Spartan said.Hork asked,"Who are you?"The Spartan replied,"As you should know by now,I'm a Spartan.I am Jagavar of the Meephis Tribe of Makairo."Hork asked,"So you saved me from the Pawns?"Jagavar nodded and asked,"What were you doing in a place like this?"Hork told Jagavar of his mission.He asked,"Have you seen a runner around this parts?"Jagavar nodded and Hork shouted,"TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW!!!"
Pudoz used a Teleport Spell and reached his destination in a few seconds.Pudoz scanned around his surroudings and knew he teleported to the correct place.Pudoz received a message from his master.Each master is in charge of giving their students missions sent from the Mission Sender.Pudoz's current mission was to find and if possible eliminate the culprit responsible for destroying the Arcanum outpost,Geratina.
Pudoz shook his head as he saw the disaster.Never had an attack of this magnitude happened before in the Arcanum Empire.Pudoz looked around as he saw a Defence Tower built by his kind burning.Pudoz just noticed that the ground was charred and the trees were also burnt.Pudoz narrowed down the culprits to only the Abalnis and Underlords.Both the Meephis and Geramon cared for nature and would never destroy trees like this.Suddenly,a creature never seen before leapt out from the ruins and attacked Pudoz.......
To be continued.. | While Jagavar and Hork were talking and resting,a Pawn was spying on them.It had heard enough to guess roughly what had happened so it left to report to it's master.
Jagavar led Hork to the Makairo Tribe's territory.Jagavar explained,"Our cavalry were out foraging for food days ago and we had no idea why a Geramon was here,you Geramons tend to stay in the forests so we took him back here and preserved it just in case your kind comes back to claim him."Hork nodded and Jagavar led him to a room.In this room were corpses from all factions preserved.Hork saw a Runner and he met Gaden's description so he assumed it was him.Hork carried Gaden back home along with Jagavar as a witness.
Pudoz was startled by this new species of Underlord.It was a hound of sorts except it had a nasty tail and horns on it's head.Of course it was a Hellhound but back in the Before Era,demons haven't walked the realm yet so this creature was relatively new to Pudoz.Pudoz sent a bolt of mystic energy which pierced through the Hellhound,killing it.Pudoz casted a Foresight spell and discovered fifteen imps along with a dozen Demons.Pudoz searched for the remaining demons but they had dissapeared.Suddenly,something ambushed him from behind.
Hork accompanied by Jagavar explained everything to Veel and presented him Gaden's body.Veel read a message Gaden had written in his pouch and read it.When Veel was finished he asked them both,"Would you mind completing a mission for me?It requires you to raid an Underlord hideout."Hork asked,"What are the details?"Veel said,"According to Gaden,this hideout,a cave to be precise lies in Deathstar Hill.The occupants of this cave are,according to Gaden making live experiments on humans and Geramons in an attempt to create 'the ultimate weapon'." Hork nodded and left along with Jagavar.
The Pawn that had spied on Hork and Jagavar reported back to Kytelak.It said,"A Geramon by the name of Hork and a Meephis by the name of Jagavar has found the runner's body.The Geramon should have took the body back home by now."Kytelak nodded and dismissed the Pawn.He thought,so our plans are getting foiled thanks to the clumsy Flesh Brute who forgot to remove the message the runner had stored.He thought,time to start the attack then.
To be continued............. | | Interruption. | | Interruption? | Pudoz was attacked by a Cerberi.The three-headed wolf bit Pudoz's shoulder,spraying blood all over his robes.Pudoz pulled out a dagger and stabbed the Cerberi.The cold blade struck the Cerberi's thick hide,inflicting no damage.Pudoz screamed as the Cerberi slashed him.Pudoz yelled and cast a spell,creating a force field,repelling the Cerberi away.Pudoz converted the force field into a bolt of energy and blasted it at the Cerberi.The bolt split through the hound and sticky blood dripped on the ground,the Cerberi twitched and was still.
Jagavar and Hork were finding the hideout in vain.Hork said,"The hideout can't be far,it should be somewhere over here.Anyway,why are you helping me?"Jagavar answered the question,"My tribe was recently attacked by Underlords,I want revenge......"
Meanwhile,Mighast laid on the blood-stained grass,too injured to move.The Flesh Brute had mauled him,leaving two broken ribs,a broken leg and a nasty hole on Mighast's shoulder.Mighast was also forced to tap the last of his mana to slay the beast.Mighast drank a Mana Broth,refilling his mana and patched up his wounds and decided to continue his journey. |
