Author | Resource sell bot in central |
I think it could be partially solved by introducing max allowed refreshing. I suppose such scripts doing refreshing many many times to catch time when they can sell resources. Dont think many people interested in that. Also it would reduce the server load. |
Actually u no need key in their buying price. U just enter any of a single digit but Not 0 (example 1). Ur resources will auto sell out at their buying price... I sold around 100 gem and 100 mercury at easy bay last few day. |
afraid to tell you all that i don't believe in scripts behind this.
Why? because i am myself one of the sellers (occasionally) that do spend time refreshing like a mad when i want to get rid of excessive resources.
The fact that some sites are harder than other is simply because more people do pay attention to them: when you go for the combat staff (Kotrin's example), you must know that there are 1 or 2 units sold in a given time, while for the same time there will be 10-20 pieces of nickel.
This means that people will look out for the combat staff site availabilities much less than they do for the nickel works ones..
Also, i often am able to enroll when somebody else buy resources (:O), simply because i already read my code on a previous entry (when i could't type it as fast as i needed ^^") and so can write much faster than the person that need to discover his/her own and copy it. It is all a matter of split seconds (and internet time), and at nighttime, when there are between 400 and 600 players, things do get much more easy (they wouldn't if there were bots, bots don't take sleep :D) |
I think that at least some players are using bots to sell resources in some factories. The nickel factory at East Bay is the most likely place for this behaviour but it does move to the Capital as well.
Of course it is hard for us players to tell if it really is a bot or just very quick reactions from several competative players who are actively trading resources. But if it is possible to make a script or bot that can sell resources automatically then it will be done by some unscrupilous players - unless the admins catch and punish the culprits. We can see that there are already other forms of cheating in the game (such as multi accounts), a bot is just another form of cheating that is harder to detect. Even so the behaviour of a bot is fairly easy to detect from the server side and as others have pointed out it should help with server load. |
@Marhallet: It is possible to make a script like that, i have the know-how but havent actually made one, its a hard script to make but can be done although the only way i can see it working is sending the same information over and over again causing lag spikes Not big ones but noticable. So i don't think a script is in use unless we can find lag spikes in the server. |
