Range is confusing to new players and can be tedious to calculate for seasoned players. I propose two updates to the battle map for ease of range calculations:

#1 -- Tell me whether a target is in range of my shooter.
Currently, your unit's potential move area is highlighted. And when you hover your cursor over a melee target, you get either a sword or an "x" to say whether or not your melee attacker can reach that target. Why not make something similar for ranged characters? Either (a) show a red border around your shooter's range, or (b) show me a green bow, yellow bow, or red bow. (Green = in range, yellow = out of range, red = can't attack).

#2 -- Show me the range of my enemy's shooter.
When you hover your cursor over an enemy, their potential move area is highlighted. If they are a shooter, add a red border around their range.

These, or similar updates, will make things much less confusing for our new players and much simpler for the rest of us. Thanks for reading!
most shooter has a ranged of 6...
you can count starting infront of the shooter 6 tiles, that's in ranged (100% damage)

however there some creature that has no ranged penalty which they damaged not decrease because of shooter weakness

and there some creatures that has ranged being plused by artifact you can see this at the creature stats, by ctrl-clicking the creature...

however this is good idea : +5 (most new player don't like to read "how-to-play" games)

This should either be mentioned in the "About the game" info, or it should be made clearer, if we are not noticing it. :)

WOW! i didnt even notice that. thank 4 the heads up
yea never saw that too... thanks:) but for grems it hardly matters and i use them for diversion only.
