Faction level

I'm a level 9 DE and my faction level just went upto 7, yet nothing has happened. It states that my troops defence goes up by 2 and initiative by 1% and this hasn't happened.

Can anyone explain why?

You only see those stats on your troops in combat, not at the character page.

you can also see it in the 'recruiting' page

It doesn't add to your hero, just for your troops.
