Councilman Kalirosh scrunched his fingers impatiently as he sat in the offered chair in the throne hall expecting the requested audience with Her Majesty to begin. He ran the words he was intending to speak in his mind again, nodding his head shortly each time he was reaching the most emphasized moments of his speech.
The Empress entered the throne hall graciously as usual, yet without Her ordinary phlegm, which, in fact, pleased the old veteran.
He had not prepared a written outline on his idea and was hoping that a swift oral explanation would be enough.
"You look anxious on this grey morning, Kalirosh", - She spoke, making herself comfortable in Her throne. "Councilor Kh'Everst is waiting for me in Misty Coast at noon, Flamesoul and himself have finally agreed on the new factories and they will be launched later today. Thus, if you do not mind, and if your matter tolerates conciseness, you will be dismissed soon".
"It is after my own wish, Your Highness. What I have to ask today will undoubtedly seem strange to Your Majesty, but I hope I can speak my point clearly.
I was pondering over an effective way to train the Lords the other night, and I appealed to the past. I suddenly had this idea: as Your Highness surely remembers, our military forces have never been so effective, so devoted and selfless, as during the sieges of the mysterious Mastermind.
Of course, being it entirely my responsibility, my efforts have made the Empire a secure place again, but the Homeland security is not today's topic.
My intention is to recreate these attacks artificially, to hold a... humm, tournament You may call it, under our full control, but which would imitate the conditions of those days as fully as possible.
I believe that, in order to maximize the Lords' military impetus, Your Majesty might wish to choose to preserve the name of 'Mastermind swarms' popular among the common people. I think of it as well as of a way to commemorate the brave lives sacrificed to fight the real threat off and to keep our Capital untouched"
The Empress, who so far listened without interrupting the councilor, took up his narration with a most animated expression.
"Brilliant, councilor! What an excellent idea it is, this will not only stir our warlords' patriotic feelings, but also provide a stupendous opportunity to face the ferocities of war in a teaching manner.
In my opinion, this sort of events must be held regularly, and accessible to any Lords willing to test their skills."
Her Majesty was already on Her way to the shore, as She saturated the idea in Her head with more and more details for future realization. Arabat Flamesoul IV and lady Quetlisse would pay a visit to the Hunters' Guild this evening to order a mass capturing of game and primitive humanoids for the new event. | TL;DR version.
Events: Ex-warlord Kalirosh meets the Empress for a short dialog where he expresses his new tournament idea. The idea suits Her Majesty's taste, she accept the idea enthusiastically and even modifies it according to Her own vision as she ventures to Misty Coast to witness the opening of the new production facilities.
Updates:
- Third Survival Tournament and forth. ST will now be held regularly, once in a fortnight, lasting one week each. The rules, conditions and awarding remained unchanged compared to previous versions.
- The new production facilities for combat level 6-7 artifacts are finally placed in Misty Coast. More facilities are to be expected in a couple of hours in other locations. |
