| That's too bad. Death Envoys were not much use in HOMM 5, I wish the developers had changed them for LWM. It seems that harvest soul is great for throne tournament, but probably of very limited usefulness in real battles. |

I'm curious why you would call Death Herald the best tier 6 upgrade. As far as the throne tournament goes, demon seems to be the best. I think Necro is good in the throne tournament, probably in second tier along with wizard and knight.
In general battles though, I'm not sure Death Heralds are going to be very good. My recollection from HOMM 5 was that I always bought them last, and never used their special ability. Maybe I just didn't fully appreciate them (I certainly hope so). |

both are not that good outside the tournament.
In my opinion the upgraded treefolk are awesome.
+50% defence and unlimited retaliation, and with the amount of HP they have, they might become very hard to kill for melee units.
And the upgraded cyclops might be very good against castle walls, but cant say that for sure since we dont have walls yet. |
| I think so, blade of doom works both on attack and retaliation and it deals extra damage rather than just killing the top stack. In addition, pit demon also has meteor shower. Death herald might be better when fighting knight, where harvest soul could also remove the holy magic spells. I think in most other situations i would go with demon though (for blade of doom plus meteor shower). |
As far as the throne tournament goes, demon seems to be the best.
No question about it. If played correctly, demons should always win in this tournament. |
