Since Dwarves wars are behind the corner for what i can understand i'll try to help who'll fight them for real(military clan)describing their mechanics in HOMM5:
Racial skill:RUNES
Dwarves can choose between 3 circles of runes each of their unit round and activate 1 of them(each 1 once every combat) to give them various bonus like +100% speed increse(1st circle rune)incorporeal(2nd lvl rune)or resurrect 40% of the dead stack(3rd lvl rune).
Units:
1 tier:Defender(basic)-Shieldguard(upgraded)
Abilities:
Enrage
Armoured(50% chance to resist spells and effects that decrease DEF)
Large shield
Shield Wall(shieldguard only)[-10% dmg for every tile walked by the attacker to attack)
2 tier:Spearwielder(basic)-Skirmisher(upgraded)
Shooter
Criplling wound(chance on attack to decrease enemy stack's speed by 50% and initiative by 30%)
No melee penality(skirmisher only)
3 tier:Bear rider(basic)-Blackbear rider(upgraded)
Enrage
Armoured(Blackbear rider only)[See Defender-Shieldguard]
Paw strike(Blackbear rider only)[chance to pull the target 1 tile aside and bring his initiative to 0]
4 tier:Brawler(basic)-Berserk(upgraded)
Immune to mind control
Berserker rage(berserk only)[Bring Def to 0 and increases attack by the same amount the Def is reduced i.e.:10 def means +10 attack]
5 tier:Rune priest(basic)-Rune patriarch(upgraded)
Shooter
Caster[Fire wall]
Magic proof 50%
Mark of fire(chance to mark target increasing fir damage received by 100%)
Crossfire(Rune Patriarch only)[Cross shaped area of attack)
6 tier:Thane(basic)-Warlord(upgraded)
Teleport
Immune to Lightning
Storm strike(the Thane/Warlord has a chance every attack to cast a chain lightning like spell that requires contact between enemy units without bouncing limit)
Storm bolt(Warlord only)[The warlord can "cast" storm strike as a spell once each fight)
7 tier:Fire dragon(basic)-Magma dragon(upgraded)
Fire breath
Fire shield(automatic damage to each stack that attacks the Fire dragon by melee attack)
Immune to fire
Elemental
Magma shield(same as fire shield but more dmg)
Dwarf army is characterized by huge def/hp points(Defender got 7 and shieldguard 12) 2 quick and strong chargers(Blackbear rider and Thane can reach a large creature in the 1st round)that can be even more thx to rune of charging(+100% speed). The rune priest/patriarch is a really solid ranged unit(6 def and 60 hit points for the priest 9 def and 70 hit points for the patriarch). To beat them fighting defensively is quite impossible and the rune keeper/patriarch can deal a huge amount of dmg.
ALL THIS INFO ARE TOOK FROM HOMM5 SO IT'S NOTHING SURE IN FACT I DUNNO HOW THEY'LL DEAL WITH RUNES RESOURCE COSTS(not like miniart that are free now i hope cause runes are 10 times better like Rune of dragonform(3rd circle):+100% to Defense, +100% to attack and +50% to magic-proof for one turn)

It is a lot easier just looking at how they were on the .ru server as it is almost certain they will be the same here and various people have already provided this information.
