AuthorIdea about gift rule
Gift rule: 3.15. Large transfers for the reason of leaving the game etc. are forbidden. Presents must not exceed 30% of the monetary property of the character per month. Monetary property is considered: gold + seven primary resources (wood, ore, mercury, sulfur, crystals, gems, leather) only. Rare trophies, Thief invitations, etc. transferred as gifts are valued at market price.

Question: how can we see in a transfer log if the transfer is a gift or a illegal transfer after 1, 2 months?

Answer: we can't, can we?

Suggestion: the player that wants to give a gift to a player, must first give 100% of the gift, then the player receiving the gift must transfer 70% back.

e.g.: player one wants to give 30 000 gold to player two. So player one transfers 100 000 gold to player two. Then player two sends 70 000 gold back, so we know that player one had that kind of money at the time of the transfer, that he wasn't transferring all his money of that month.

I know that there will be remarks like: what if the player that's receiving the gift keeps the 100%?
My answer: only give to players that you really trust, why would you give a gift to somebody if you don't trust anybody?

I know the idea isn't perfect, so what do you think?
Yes, it has some logic, although, it can be checked automatically. Abusing 30% rule is not the most common form of cheating.
Question: Why would you give a gift to somebody if you don't trust anybody?

Answer: To make your way into her/his heart.

Remember there are also players who like role-playing and for them, sending gifts to members of the opposite (or same...) sex as a sign of love is part of the fun of it. Imagine if you would be sending your entire wealth to someone irl and asking for 70% of it back - "Hey, listen, I only sent you all my money because there's a stupid rule that says I have to... I wanted to give you only 30% of that".
This game has enough stupid rules as it is, let's keep them to a minimum, shall we?

That wouldn't even work, what about assets such as artifacts, resources, elements, enchanted weapons? Do castles count?

I understand why you might want to make a better rule, but this isn't.

What if I want to break the rule:
I give 100%, then I claim that he/she didn't give back 70% as asked!
Who got the penalty/fine/blocked?

There would have to be evidence in the PM's that organise the gift.

I know the idea isn't perfect, so I'm asking you guys what we could improve in it.
rtifacts, resources, elements, enchanted weapons? Do castles count?

30% is always of gold and ressources - nothing else counts.
