AuthorAutomatic Block-Unblock tools for Admins
Players might not like it....

But I suggest that Admins make a tools to BLOCK a player for a period of time, and automatically UNBLOCK at specified time.

Why?

Some players just don't get it or intentionally ignore the CaA rule that they SHOULD NOT make a comment in Complaint and Application Forum (if they are not related to it), because they will make it more difficult for the Authority to punish the cheaters or rule breakers.

Forum Ban is not powerful enough to make them wary and not do it again. So, instead of a forum ban (which means nothing to them), why not BLOCK them for (let's say 1-3 days).

1st violation : 1 day BLOCKED
2nd violation : 2 days BLOCKED
3rd violation : 3 days BLOCKED
more : 7 days BLOCKED

If a player is BLOCKED, when he tries to log in, he will receive a message like:

--------------------------------------------------------
"Sorry, you have been BLOCKED for xx days for violating game rule. You can play again at : mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss (server time)

You have violated the Complain and Application forum rule:

1. If you aren't related to the application directly - don't leave your messages in it's topic. Third-party comments are allowed only for providing additional facts about the affair, or for replacing the link to warlog with the more readable battlechat. Discussions, expressing personal opinions, etc. are penalized with at least 24 hour ban.

Please follow the game rule to avoid the BLOCKING punishment"
--------------------------------------------------------

I think most players will STOP and refrain themselves for making comment in CaA in the future after they receive their first BLOCK punishment.
Stupid Idea!

I make this suggestion to Administration. Let them decide whether it is stupid or not.

I already said:
Players might not like it....
and don't forget the Ideas and Suggestion forum rules:
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1838998

9. Any senseless expressions are forbidden. If you are not the Administration and have nothing to say to the point - refrain from leaving messages in this forum thread.
Lolz now Arctic have gone again for many days. If he online to block ppl then he ofline for months, this ppl will mad Lol. Arctic forget to unblock o_O
...and automatically UNBLOCK at specified time.

Read first before making any comments
Oh I missd that.
Still a bad idea!
Tons of minus
There is nothing to worry about if we never / didn't make a comment on CaA Forum.

Those who worry, are the one who repeatedly break the rule by making comments in CaA forum.
For me,that is a good idea...many newbie dont know the rules...so temporary block may teach them the rules of this game
If this idea is implemented, case like this hopefully can be minimized.

And again, I repeat myself:

There is nothing to worry about if we never / didn't make a comment on CaA Forum.

Those who worry, are the one who repeatedly break the rule by making comments in CaA forum.
This idea has been brought up by me personally on the mod-hubs...it has gotten no where as of yet (nearly 2 years of waiting).

The problem is that the admins (those above Arctic) are unwilling to grant such powers to mods - and of course to other players. However, for it to serve any great purpose it would need to be delegated to at least a few mods...as suggested.

GL with the crusade though. ;)
Don't lose hope :)

If it is a permanent block, I can understand completely why Admins don't want to grant such power to Mods. But this is just an automatic "temporary block" within certain limited days.

The rule is there, so all of us shall abide the rule. What happen to those who break the rule? They will be punished of course (Ban) to make them aware and not do that again.

But, what happen to those who actually knows about the rule, and decided to ignore it and intentionally break the rule again (after being banned) and again... and again.. for several times??

Well, there should be a heavier penalty for them. It is just a consequences of what you are doing. You don't want to be punished?? Don't break the rule.

So simple isn't it?

If such a tool exist, of course it will be better to give access to some Mods or Keeper to do it.
No! There is a Mod with bad behaviour. That kinda person doesn't deserve this HUGE power.

More minus from me.
this is an exclusive and a terrific idea.this will stop many unrelated comments and this will help to ease the moderation job.
positive for infinite from me.
@13:

I can completely understand why you are against this suggestion. It is because you might be the first one who will be punished by this system (judging from what you did in this thread)

https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1873194

And BTW, You can give 'millions' or even 'billions' of minus as many as you want.

I don't think Admins implement an Idea/Suggestion based on how many plus / minus the suggestion has :p
Just a question; how many bans before the temporary block?
And what the the times for the preceeding bans?
Example: A player might play this game every once a week. He posts, gets bans, log in next week and does not realizes he got banned. That wouldn't serve much of a warning, would it?
So:
Ban#:Time
-----------
1____24h
2____?
3____?
4____?
5____?
...
Block__1 day
Block__2 day
...

(And the temporary block wouldn't work too, cause as I had said, he only logs in once a week...)
@16:

We can leave that to Admins to decide.

But I don't think any serious players log in once a week. Most players login on a daily basis. If there are players who indeed wants to log in once a week just to run away from the Ban/BLOCK... so be it.

That is actually the exact reason we give them a week block. To prevent them for playing this game in 7 days :)
So lets discuss: You seriously want to give moderators temporary block button? You know how many players would object? I doubt even any of the mods would want such responsibility. And if admins should impose penalties gold/block for all the C&A flooders, it would just give them more work to do.

Why is C&A full and not moving forward? Because people who have the power to deal with the cases are scarce, they dont have either time, interest or have more pressing matters to deal with.

I believe if an admin(or a sweeper) felt flooders are the main problem of C&A, they could easily instruct moderators to impose BAN for 6 months after first relapse. It would clean it quite quickly.

But I would agree that people who are posting false evidence/framing someone intentionally or not, should be penalised/blocked.(there is already a rule for that, but I havent seen more than 1 case)

No! There is a Mod with bad behaviour.
I couldnt stop myself from reacting to this. I guess "Mod bad behaviour" means banning you over and over for breaking the same rules you apparently are unable to understand or follow.
Sometimes player gets forum ban for very small mistakes so in these cases forum ban is enough.

In extreme cases of insulting someone, flaming, spamming, using foul words temporary block is a good idea.

I think we could specify that for what type of violations the temporary block ban is needed.
for Omega22:
I didn't point my finger on you :p

I don't really care about few days forum ban. But Blocked XD
BAD IDEA!

Mods can make mistakes too! Remember Kusika's case? Some ppl questioned Mod action.

So -1*10^trillion for h4nd's idea
