For the people who have problems with roulette and realize it, i think there needs to be a button that lets you lock roulette, so you can't bet.. this way people wouldn't waste all there time and put it straight into roulette..
Basically, you would go to roulette and click a button that sais "lock" at the bottom of the page.. then it would give you three options, you could click "lock forever", you could click "lock for X days", or you could click "lock until XXX gold". They are all pretty self explanatory, but just in case, lock forever means locking roulette forever, lock for X days means lock for X days, and lock until XXX gold means lock until you have that much gold, then unlock it :P
This way, people who realize they have roulette problems can stop themselves from killing off all their gold...
P.S- please don't say anything along the lines of, its a good idea but *admins will never see this topic* etc...
Also, i realize how much gold i have won in roulette... don't tell me... i of all people know and it is completely irrelevent to this topic... |

I think there is such a script already for such enlightened people.
But I feel that the ones who truly need the feature will lack the wherewithal to use it, denial and habit are powerful human conditions. |

If people realise they have a gambling problem, they stop gambling, simple as that. Restricting yourself forcefully will just keep you from entering the game, since you won't find any fun in playing without the roulette.
And what if you do lock yourself out of roulette forever? Won't you just find a more intelligent solution, like "lending" gold to another character you made and gambling exclusively on that one... |

Such an item is the brain, controls actions of the human body.
The will of a human controls what he wants and doesn't want to do, those who are strong-willed can stop, while those greedy and poor-willed will continue to play, violating rules if necessary.
Point is, everyone can stop roulette if they want. They just need to control their will.

+1 for the idea as some don't want the option, including some who have never played
but TheMarsh i think you're doomed to keep playing since making money in other ways will seem so boringly slow given your history with it

idk what to say to this other than... lmao, you must be joking? when one realises they have a smoking problem, does that mean they just stop smoking like that? when one has an alchohal problem do they stop drinking? It is the same for us who are hooked on roulette... (ok people who are over their roulette problems may not want to read on) its like getting high when you see your money go from 1k to 19k.. from 5k to 108k.. the fact is we can't help it :P

...So basically what your saying is that if somebody doesn't want to spend their last penny on roulette then that means they won't do it as long as they are strong willed... so continuing on from my response to #5, in other circumstances like say an alchoholic, because they don't stop does that make them weak? In reality, everyone has something they want to give up but can't.. maybe some people are on diets they can't keep up, or bite their nails excessively.. Is it there fault because they are "weak" Are we all "weak"? Well, riddle me this, if everyone is concidered normal, and everyone has some habit they can't or won't break, then why is it only those who can't stop rouletting that are weak? |

My point is, if you feel like you're going to lose, don't play. It could just as well get you blocked, as your lust for for gold rebels you to possibly create multis for financial support. Some don't, and that's great.
An alcoholic drinks beer because he's addicted to it. A LWM player is addicted to roulette because of greediness. Every human being never has enough needs to satisfy their personal taste. |

did you read the word 'IF' ?
you are looking for a 'lock' on roulette, so i assume you are afraid of losing more than winning. yet, if you are bankrupt because of roulette, it is just your fault and deserved, nothing to do with the game play nor admin
AND, it wasnt me jump to the conclusion, the fact had show us there are ALOT kids bankrupt due to roulette; some of them even cry on forum and blame the roulette. they just never learn from the mistake |

I actually love the idea of people getting bankrupt using roulette.
I'm not evil - I'm just making the assumption that they may learn something about themselves in the process. And it's better being taught this lesson using fantasy game gold than real money.
If the roulette feature is somehow locked, gambling addict players may only discover their weakness much later, and with dire consequences. |

As you can see, since game release Casino only made a meager 3.5 million gold. That's really low but perfectly understandable, since on average 36/38th of Roulette stakes get redistributed from losers to winners. There's no commission on roulette gains. Some gold disappear from in-game economy, but the amount is negligible. |
