It was named during Pax Romana(The time of piece in Rome),But when the Huns and Goths invaded,it was given a new name.

i have gone to a sanctuary to meditate and to find an answer: how come someone be so unwise to go to istanbul by own will? if it's a plane crash... ok, if he was taken there by force... ok, but to go there by own will?!? jeez, you can't even be sure you'll leave this place in peace.

history is not your strongest side. what peace with rome? istanbul was known as byzantium and constantinople in the past. it was the capital city of the roman empire, then the eastern roman empire (byzantia), the latin empire. but then the ottoman turks invade it in 1453 and nothing is left from it's great history.
how is that possible someone to spend a minute of his time there? ok, leave bulgaria aside, there are so many beautiful places in the neighbourhood - greece, malta, cypus... |
