jousting increases the damage while lizards charge lowers the defence.
So if you have a unit with high defence, then a little extra damage wont make a big difference (because the damage is very low, high defence)
But if you can reduce the defence, damage will increase much more.
On the other hand, if the enemy has very low defence, reducing its defence even more wont have a big impact, but increasing the damage is better.
So in short
Enemy with low defence => jousting = best
Enemy with high defence => Lizards charge = best |
