The tales of Silent Hill

AuthorThe tales of Silent Hill
Hi

I'm writing a short story, it will be about the area Silent Hill (which you may have gathered from the title). Please don't comment while I am writing my story. If people like it then I might open another thread for you to comment on. If people don't like it then I will abandon it. While I play Lords I am planning to write quite alot of short stories.

Thanks,
Gold
The blazing sun burnt down on Rotan's neck, the sun's rays hit Rotan like waves. Each one more hot than the next. Sweat cascaded down his forehead and he wiped the sweat away and flicked his blonde hair out of his eyes. Every day save Saturdays and Sundays Rotan worked hard on his father, Teragon's farm. If this work was an actual job, then Rotan would be earning at least one thousand coins a day. Instead he earnt the pitiful amount of one-hundred coins a day. But this didn't matter to Rotan, he worked on his father's farm for the reason that he couldn't leave his father short handed. Since his mother died it had been extremely hard to make ends meet. Rotan had a goal, by the end of the next harvest season he would marry his beloved Charlotte. She was the town criers daughter and was admired by all men who passed her way, Rotan knew he would have to ask Charlotte's father, Gregory for permission to ask for Charlottes hand in marriage. It was on of the things that Rotan was to do, but hadn't got around to.

Rotan looked around at his days work, he had planted vegetables over a fair percentage of the field, he decided to call it a day and headed inside.
Rotan pulled off his leather gloves as he tossed them on to the table.
"Dad? Where are you?" Rotan called out down the hallway
"In here, son. I'm just reading a message that Gregory sent me" a kind and strong voice echoed out of his bedroom.
Rotan strolled in and sat down on a chair, waiting for his father to finish reading the letter.
"Gregory and his family have invited us to their house tonight for a feast" said Teragon joyfully
Rotan erupted into a huge grin. "tonight? I should go get ready then, when can we leave?"
Teragon, smiled knowingly. "Hold your horses son, you get dressed and comb your hair and we can leave as soon as I'm ready"
So Rotan sprinted like a happy child into his room and quickly got dressed into his dress robes and combed his hair. While he waited for his father to finish getting dressed he watched the setting sun, as the amber inferno slowly sunk through the sky he thought of his future with Charlotte. He wanted to marry her as soon as he had the nescessary money. Then he wanted to buy a house, have a few children and live off the land. As the sun got closer to the horizon, Rotan thought; if that is to happen, then I must take action immediatly. He made the promise to himself that tonight he would ask Teragon for permission. Just as Rotan made up his mind about this his father entered dressed in his robes for formal occasions. "Lets go shall we?" Teragon said with much joy. Rotan nodded and they set off.

Rotan and Teragon strolled towards Gregory's house talking of all things jolly. Gregory lived on number sixteen wolvesbane alley. Gregory was quite a wealthy man and had quite a few servants. As Gregory and Rotan entered they didn't notice the four men in the alleyway talking in whispers in the corner, if they had looked closer, they may have seen the silver and gold hilts of the daggers, they didn't though and only happiness was in there mind as they entered sixteen wolvesbane alley.
Rotan and Teragon entered the house and Gregory and his family greeted them with a massive roar of joy. The atmosphere was happy and jovial. Small talk was made and Gregory and Teragon discussed cattle prices and the town issues. Servants rushed around preparing for the meal and setting up the table as Gregory's wife ordered them what to do. Rotan and Charlotte whispered to each other, Charlotte often letting out a giggle. As the conversation continued, Gregory moved the group into the lounge, with amazing furniture and paintings decorating the walls. Teragon and Rotan were amazed by such exquisate things as they lived on a farm and unneeded luxurious were not often had. General chit-chat was made as the two families sat in the lounge and happiness was everywhere. Soon a servant entered
"dinner is prepared, get it quickly before it was cold." said a little servant, obviously uncomfortable being in the presence of higher class members of society.
"Well then, let us eat and all be merry!" said Gregory as he lead them all into the kitchen.
Rotan and Teragon could not remember the last time they tasted food so wonderful. Emboldened by the happy surrondings Rotan made his move and asked Gregory for a private word. Gregory accepted and they moved into the hallway, shutting the door behind them.
"As you know Charlotte and I have very strong feelings for each other and I want to spend the rest of my life with her, what I am asking you is..." Rotan was cut off suddenly by Gregory.
"Oh, I know what you want boy. The answers is yes, there would be no other man in the town that I would trust with my one and only daughter. You I think are the only one that sees past her looks and loves her for who she truely is. You have my blessing"
A huge wave of relief plunged over Rotan, "thank you sir, thank you so very, very much. I will treat her well and she will never know a moment of discomfort" Rotan said, breathlessly.
"You see by that boy, now I beleive we should return to the feast. I don't want to miss my roasted pig before it goes cold" Gregory set off for the door.
"And one more thing, where is your bathroom?" Said Rotan, still with joy on his face.
"First door on the left" Said Gregory as he returned to the feast.

Rotan entered the bathroom and was jsut about to go about his "business" when he heard a knock on the door. Followed by deep voices and a few yells. Rotan went quiet, wondering what it was. Gregory and Taragon got along well and they wouldn't argue and none of the slaves nor women had voices that deep. There was someone new in the house.
