Note: This is my very first story thingy and it wont be very long. Maybe like 2 or 3 chapters. This might not be so good. If i did something wrong just tell me what i did wrong please.
Chapter 1: Flashback
Right before I was going to die from this stranger , my
entire life flashed before my eyes. From a baby until now. When I was 8 years old , my grandfather died and my mother told me about all the good deeds he has done and how kind he was. I felt proud to have a grandfather like him. When I was 15 , my best friend died with an old wind chime.
He died in the bird park. There was an emergency and a cassowary escaped. My family , my friend - his name is Ted - and me were running away and the cassowary was right behind us. Suddenly the cassowary kicked Ted causing his leg bone to break.
Everything happened too fast , the next moment I screamed , everybody screamed and the cassowary was eating my best friend. How sad.
When Ted's funeral had come , I buried him with his wind chime. The toy which he loved so dearly , the gift from his ancestors. After the cassowary kicked the wind chime , it looked broken and battered , but could still make the ringing sound. But it sounded like glass dropping from an apartment.
The week after , everyone in my school heard what happened. It was sad to just think about the gruesome scene of what had become of my friend. Best friend , loyal companion from kindergarten.
Every now and then , when I can hear a wind chime ringing , it reminds me of that day. My parents told me that is was alright.
" We could not have done anything Jack , what has happened happen . I understand what your loss is. Just like how I lost my father and you lost your grandfather. You two were not very close. But me and my father knew everything about each other and never kept a secret among us ". Said my father
I sighed and thought, maybe he is right , just let things go and continue my life , a road which has many happy moments , but countless of sad moments.
Chapter 2: Wind chime
After a few months , my memories of Ted did not depress me so much anymore. I learned to move on and continue the road.
I was cycling to school when my eyes spotted a newly opened antique shop. I looked at my watch and I thought that I had enough time to look around.
I looked at the windows and it said 'Closed' I thought to myself , how funny , the electricity has been left on and all the antiques had been shown on the viewing window.
I took a glance at all of the antiques from the displaying window and suddenly I froze in horror. I thought to myself that's impossible! I quickly got onto my bike and went to school.
History lesson was so boring. I don't understand why history was even invented. Believe it or not, some people found it fun . Maybe Mr.Ericson is the cause of S.S.F.H . S.S.F.H stands for Students Suffering From History. I quickly brushed aside those thoughts when I saw someone outside.
Huh, that's odd. When the figure went closer to the window, I saw the persons face. All bloodied and bashed , I almost screamed my head off. Mr.Ericson saw the terror in my eyes and looked at the window.
"Are you feeling alright Jack? You look pale"
"Yes teacher , i'm feeling fine." I lied
When recess period came up , I took my ham sandwich and went to the canteen. The canteen was flooded with people walking around and stealing food from one another. Suddenly, something caught my ears and eyes. The same figure , but this time his face is covered with a plastic bag and his clothes looked a bit red. Blood red and that sound.
'TING' 'TING' 'TING' 'TING'
Wind chimes? I was about to approach the figure when he suddenly left . How odd. Nobody seemed to care about that poor fellow. Or maybe they just ignored him and continued on to their own selfish matters. | what is a cassowary? | a big bird that can't fly, much like an ostrich, I believe
