I found this when I play another online game (which is my main focus right now). I think it is very good, that's why I brought it here.
To tell you the truth, I am getting sick of the way LWM's forum today. I find the LWM community is uncomfortable for me anymore because of too many politicians.
That's why, I play another online game and only occasionally login to LWM. I didn't even bother to enroll anymore!

There's no point debating anything online.You may as well hurl shoes in the air to knock clouds from the sky. The internet is perfect for all manner of things, but productive discussion ain't one of them.
It provides scant room for debate and and infinite opportunites for fruitless point scoring; the heady combination of perceived annonymity, gestated responses, random heckling and a notional 'live audience' quickly conspire to create a perfect storm of perpetual bickering.
Stumble in, take umbrage with someone, trade a few blows and within two or three exchanges the subject itself goes out the window. Suddenly you're simply arguing about arguing.
Eventually one side gets bored. comes to its senses, or dies, and the row fizzles out; just another needless belch in the swirling online guffstorm.
But not for long, because online quarrelling is also addictive, in precisely the same way Tetris is addictive. It appeals to the 'lab rat' part of your brain; the annoying, irrepressible part that adores repetitive pointlessness and would gleefully make you pop bubblewrap until Doomsday if it got its way.
An unfortunate few, hooked on the futile thrill of online debate devote their lives to its cause. They roam the internet, actively seeking out viewpoints they disagree with, or squat on message boards, whining, needling, sneering, over-analysing each new proclamation - joylessly fiddling, like unhappy gorillas doomed to pick lice from one another's fur all eternity. | | [Post deleted by moderator Barbarian-Fishy // Off topic] | | [Post deleted by moderator Barbarian-Fishy // Off topic.] | for GalMK and filowarrior:
This topic is for "online debate" which is happening lately in LWM and make me uncomfortable anymore playing LWM. Please stay on topic. I am not talking about more interesting game than LWM or something like that.
I just want to share the article, and hopefully can make some politicians here realize that it is useless to involved in online debate. What you do will only brings something bad for the community in the future.

I know it from other MMO game there was a group players who usurped forums complete with full squad of forum warriors at disposal. They got reputation of almost ingame gods on forum. However ingame they died just like the rest. :D Since that time i take everything posted on forums with pinch of salt.
also importance of forums is overestimated in reality only 10% of players read the forum and even then not all sections of forums.
If u want i can find some threads here on these forums where reality check is desperatly needed. :) |
