There has to be some sort of formula, otherwise we wouldn't get any gold.
Even if this formula is simple ([RAN: 10-100]xHG) it is still a formula.
HG only determines the gold in a certain way that is a random amount range is fixed per Hg and you get any random gold in that range
That is a pretty large range, judging from looking at some people's hunts. :s
The variation is between 200~ish gold up to 1200~ish gold per hunt.
Again, I looked at MasterTI's hunts, and the farmers that gave 1342g. His latest hunt gave only 303g. The difference here is that 1342 was against plenty of farmers, while the 303 was against "few" Archliches. Presumably his HG-lvl is either the same or higher in his later fight.
Adding what you remember Arctic saying two years ago, and the information we have from looking at combat-logs, a formula would be something like...
N= Number of creatures
H= HG-lvl
X= So far unknown factor that I'm to tired to think about.
H * (N^X) = Gold.
Pretty simple apart from the fact that I don't know anything. :P

true i mean they won't be so poor to have 1 gold piece in 10 people
@AGE: well i was wrong about it being off topic still the X factor which you say is randomness... like the random damage and the random ness is huge probably like the x-bows... you will need blessing to deal good damage(get more gold) or pure luck | Mmmm, the X-factor isn't something we can just hope to guess correctly. Which means we can't answer the Q without divine intervention.
@ZGM, yeah, the random factor seems to become smaller the more there are (but still a larger sum in the end). Just imagine if MasterTI's farmer had the same X-factor as my first 25 (2,04g/farmer)! His record hunt would've netted him about 180k gold. ^_^ | b4c at YL/GC,people r richer than other place . and 1000farmers found no gold to guard at ROH , xD
