Author | How is it possible to enrol while in Combat? |
I see some people who do this but I can't even get the map screen while I am in combat.
So how do you do this?
Cheers |
You can't. |
Hi Darksooth
You can't.
Indeed... that is what I thought. However I recently did an Artifact purchase and a superfast Enrol i.e. using the prepared cut/copy method.
Immediately after I enrolled another player (level 2) also enrolled (I'm extremely "impressed" with how quickly that player enrolled).
Then curiosity got the better of me and I clicked on that player's toon to see that he/she was also in combat (a hunt with a complex defensive setup). I clicked on the combat, and the combat was about a third of the way through.
All up there was about 25 seconds from when I enrolled to when I started watching the combat.
Now I suppose it is plausible everything is above board. But I just wanted to make sure that you couldn't be in a combat and enrol at the same time.

It is impossible, unless you use scripts that can read codes
(Which is illegal)
Regular players cant access any part of the map when in combat |
actually you can
if only you ambushed one caravan/people while you clicked the facilities or mining section to enroll..therefore you can enroll "during" the combat..because you clicked the facilities and you don't know you actually already in a combat |

Actually, you can write a code but after the combat you will see that it didnt enroll you, it just redirected you to your battle. So in this case it doesnt work too, if I remember correctly. After the ambush ends, you will have to enroll again. |
Omega22 is correct
You are not really accessing the map as much as just being there

So does this mean that while you are in combat, even if you can see an enrol page where you can type the code, you will still be barred from enrolling?

Exactly. All except forums/chat/mail/roulette/character pages, when loaded, redirect you to your battle before getting a chance to do what you were trying. |
You can try it with hunt. Enroll while the creatures are "taking to their heels" and send the enroll command after hunt has started. It should redirect you to combat and after you end the combat you should be without a job.
At least I remember it this way. |

I mean, yes it should throw you out to combat without enrolling you. |
what you can do is ( and i have tried it many times)
suppose you login to enroll and you notice a hunter asking help,
click on join , go to ore mine , enroll ( all this before the battle starts to load)
i am almost always able to do this .. possibly because my connection is painfully slow ? not sure...
but yes once that red dragon globe begins to fill ... then you cant enroll.. |
#12 That's because the assisted hunt won't start right away. It has nothing to do with your connection or anything. |
How about this. When you enroll, your computer sends a command to the server. What if (before the combat, say, we enroll in the sawmill in East Bay, copying the command they sent (in the URL). During the combat 1h later, you copy in the URL in the bar, which sends the command, then you get redirected to the battle. The question is - did you enroll or not? (assuming your battle is in East Bay, and the sawmill has enough workplaces and gold to enroll you.) |
