This player signed up using my reference ID, but I DON'T KNOW WHO HE IS!!!

I already sent him a PM but there's been no reply. And I know he's been online since then 'cause I've been keeping an eye on his profile. Maybe he hasn't figured out that we have a PM system yet; I don't know. But I-am-freaking-the-HELL-out!
How the heck did this guy get my Reference ID? The only people who I sent it to are my friends and only one of them ever signed up and after taking part in a total of one combat he hated the game and swore he'd never sign in again.
I've been calling people all morning trying to find out if they shared the ref link with anyone else and no one has any idea who this is!
So going back to what-the-HELL territory, what's going on? Has my account been hacked? Or, God, has my IP been hacked? Should I be worried? What's going on?
