AuthorElves: How do they work? A faction discussion topic!
The old thread is inactive, so here's a new one :) Ask any Elf related question!

If you need reference, here's the old thread:

Elves dont work. They r hunting, singing and fornicating into wildwood with lost strangers... =)
This, coming from a Demonic half-Elf ;p

I tell you, I have dabbled in the Demonic arts... and became confused and bored very quickly ;p

Then again I had less than half the castle build xD
Take care not to be seduced by the Dark side, ipslne. :D

Btw, can you tell me about the ELF CL 12 for hunting and so on, ipslne? If somebody else has some experience with PvP as Elf CL 12, pls, write few words for rookie like me. Thanks!
4:

Luckily for you, CL 12 was not long ago for me ;)

I have noticed that my strategy is somewhat unique and perhaps not the best.

For most PvE (Hunting, most Mercs, some Event battles) I would have Advanced Nature talent for better Wasp Swarm and summoning Trees when necessary. I would also have Erudition to have as much mana as possible.

For slow hunts I use Battle Fury, Basic Nature (unfortunately couldn't afford Advanced) and Luck.

For hunts, I used the basic set up (Max Sprites (or EFK, depending on enemy), Bows, Anchorites and Trees. I found Unicorns to be useless in hunts, so I had as few as possible. For strategy, I phantom EFK first, then Bows and Anchorites. I would phantom Trees for more blocking, and sometimes Uni if they weren't dead yet. For slow hunts, I phantom Bows and Anchorites before I phantom Sprites.

Wasp Swarm was also very important to get some key hits in. It is very nice at Advanced level.

PvP is quite a bit different. Max out Anchorites and Trees, should have about 20 GMB and the rest in EFK (if not max EFK... I think it is though) and whatever is left in Uni.

Set up one big stack of Anchorites, and another big stack (or split 10-10) GMB. If there are any casters, set them up with Uni adjacent to all major stacks. If not any big casters, set up with Trees adjacent to all major stacks.

Go in with Expert Holy talents. I use Dominion of Wrath, however if you can or would rather, Mass Evasion is very very helpful. I also used Erudition to get Spell Power (4 is the minimum to be truly effective). Main strategy in PvP is to set all your FE to the most bothersome stacks. For example I had set Guards, Vamps, Gargs, Orcs, Shrews, and Cerberi as my FE.

Mass buff your units and let them go :) Be careful with your Anchorites and Trees... as you will be counting on them for the most damage. EFK and GMB are purely for fodder and whatever damage you can get with them. That said, this doesn't not mean you can be lax in your tactics with them ;)

Mercenary Missions sometimes required specific recruits or talent builds... so many of which I could not possibly begin to explain them here xD If you come across a specific Merc you are having trouble with, ask here and I can try to help :)

I realize this is very general information... I would suggest only incorporating it into your playstyle and not basing your style off of this.
Thanks a lot, ipslne!

About mercs, yes, I know each requires a certain setup. I already started to build some knowledge about the mercs.

About hunts, yes, I am doing like you said already, excepting few points:
1. I keep something like 16 anchorites and 9 unicorns. But I noticed the unicorns are quite useless. Sometimes, I split them in 2 stacks to protect my archers better.
2. I use Basic Nature, Advanced Fortune and depending on what low level troops I use (Sprites or EFK), I use Battle Fury + Basic Offense or Rally + Basic Leadership.
Nevertheless, your options seem quite attractive and I will try them (especially that I have easy hunts).

About PvP, hmm... I still have time to think of that because I still do not have an internet connection to support that. Though, your strategy sounds like more supportive one than a might-build one. Unfortunately, this doesn't fit my personality too much... :(
Understandable about your PvP set up. Mine is used because I have 7 intrinsic Knowledge and relatively low attack power. With a magic build, Holy is the only way to go with Elf in PvP. Otherwise, Might is very powerful. With low attack, however, might builds are almost useless vs another might build.
Calling all Elves: Are any of you having this same problem? And if so, do you believe it is intentional?

https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1895451

The Dragons I speak of are the Black and Twilight Dragons.
I cannot set black dragons as favoured also, talking to the topic well was fighting all the time as might build elf, and it is cool don't know why you think that elf is useless in might build... get some defensive talents, luck and good luck.
9:

Er, I would reiterate, but I think I said it fine the first time:

With low attack, [...] might builds are almost useless vs another might build.
let me ask, who makes might build with low attack? :))))
https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=4437569

Well the initial discussion was with him... who has 3 points less attack than I do in min arts; and I am certainly not a Might build.

That's all I was referencing, I suppose ;) So it made more sense in context ;p
*casts Raise Thread* [-2 Morale to other lively threads. Hp cut to Elves caused by a poor revival question.]

How is this Throne battle going for most Elves? I have noticed that our Tier 7 Dragons are about middle-ground when compared to other factions; though I can see them being practical in everyday PvE combat.

What say ye other pointy-eared ones?
What is recommended for thiefing on lvl 10? (talents, recruiting)
Hedvig:

At level 10 (and up, tbh) You will want Rally and Luck. Phantoms are not useful. You may want to explore some Defensive Talents as well... though in calculation Vitality only gives more total HP than Rally; but technically Rally presents more Attack. Using Battle Fury would be nice... but once again that is only more Attack and technically less Defense than if you had Rally.

As for Recruiting... a nice big stack of Druids seemed to be a little helpful, as they tend to outlast everything else.

I would go in with max EFK, then max your Sprites, then Uni, and go half GMB (about 15-20?) and then the rest in Dru.

I may be getting level 10-11 mixed up... as they are a little different.
@14

indeed raise dead is very useful in many cases, which gave birth to my most favorite duel in the last minor tour.

Not bad. Surprised he didn't Magic Arrow your GMB o_o;
Question: Is Summon Elemental worth it at level 14? Even with high spell power and Expert Nature?
well, i have watched some lvl 15 wizard with summon elemental. at least the element can last until the battle over, they are good in taking retal or dealing mass damage.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
