i think this change should be made because the first point spent in spell power is essentially only worth .5 points, which disincentivises the use of spell power ..
if it were changed to 0 then 1 point in spell power would become valid, making 2 spell power valid, etc ..

A spell lasting only 0.5 turns is pretty poor anyway so I don't think it is that important. |

it is by the same token yeah, if the last half turn is irrelevant to the purpose of the spell ..
the purpose of removing the free usage is to remove the "fail" burden attached to getting 1 spell power with current mechanics. |
