| What is mean by contamination? |
Contamination:
Any hostile creature gets -4 attack, -4 defense and -1 morale as long as it is adjacent to this one.

A more detailed question which I always had my doubts on:
If my unit does melee damage to a stack of ghouls, does the -4 attack take effect immediately? In other words, is my damaged reduced in that hit?
Also when it retaliates, has my defense already been -4 in the calculation? |

| When fighting against AI creatures, they gain 1 speed each 10 turns. It has nothing to do with them being ghouls. |
