[Fan-Fic Lore Archive] Hall of the Observers

Author[Fan-Fic Lore Archive] Hall of the Observers
The Hall of the Observers is an athenaeum of historical archives recorded since time immemorial, overseen by the wizard Councillor Bilir. As you step through the giant arch entrance, you notice the numerable parchments stacked orderly in oaken repositories. Four mechanical golems stand menacingly at the corners with their dual scimitars, guarding against any hostile miscreants. Your footsteps reverbrate resoundingly through the hallway, hinting at the sheer size of the structure. Eager to enlighten yourself, you sift out the nearest scroll and absorb its boundless knowledge...
[Angels as transcribed by the observer SocialSurgery]

The Angel is a flurry of fluorescent perspicuity;
its presence a coruscating reminder of consecration’s patience.
A rainbow’s breadth could not correctly elucidate their dutiful benevolence.

A temperate judiciary, wielding a decadence of endearing purity,
each sonorous judgement displays their devotion to parity.

To the irredeemable, however, they do not proffer their mercy.
The flawed shall fear when their celestial wings draw near.

~

Councilor Kalirosh sniffed, tossing aside his truncated tome of poetry.

It was time to do his duty for the realm.

Pulling out his pickaxe, he solemnly headed into the Dust Burrow to enroll for the day. His regiment of 7000 angels surely wouldn’t feed itself. No way.

[Rogues as transcribed by the observer Takesister]

Ohroro, a dark-elf rogue, used her sandals of hastened pace to dodge from shadow to shadow at thrice the speed of any other creature. She had a task this twilight, one of malicious intent.
Ohroro snuck past many traps as she entered the palace. With her speed-enhancing footwear, she easily ran round corners, slit the throats of the guards, and returned back to cover without anyone seeing her. She smiled.
In a few minutes, she found her mission objective standing in the kitchen, getting himself a midnight snack. As Ohroro peered past the door at High Wizard Saztham, his rotund belly protruding out as if he was a pregnant whale, she concluded that there was too much fat for her to go straight for his heart, she would have to stab him in the head. She rushed him, dagger ready, when….
Saztham lazily tossed a banana peel behind him as he reached for another, only to suddenly hear a scream, a skid and a crash. He turned around to see a dark-elf maiden had smashed right into a vat of honey. “Well,”, Saztham noted as he put on his spectacles, “it seems she’s now in a rather sticky situation..”

[Vampires as transcribed by the observer DragonEater]

The servants of a necromancer, vampires, undead and eternal, are blood-sucking creatures that feed on the essence of life, satisfying their bloodlust without feeling any guilt, catching the scent of their next victim. It is almost unbelievable that these creatures were once human, tempted by the dark arts of the unholy, tricked into eternal servitude of the necromancer, by the necromancer. They are a source of unbelievable power; they drain the life out of living creatures and restore their own. Some say that they have corrupted the necromancers, twisted their minds into doing what is unjust. Perhaps that is what happened to our Detention Block Keeper Sir Councilor Feurlis. Imprisoning beloved Herald Arctic for an "unsigned slave," what a pathetic reason. It must have been the treacherous work of his vampirelords; after all, they have studied extremely advanced dark magic compared to the average vampire. They could have pulled it off.

[Vampires as transcribed by the observer Brianna_Sampson]

Everyone, and their mothers, in the Empire know why vampires are so infamous. Not for their ability to harness immortality by siphoning fonts of blood from their victims or their exceptional strength and speed, but for their impeccable ability to mesmerize prepubescent girls.

After the recent release of Councilor Feurlis’s romance/drama novel ‘Daybreak,’ teenage girls all over the Empire have been swooning over these morbid creatures. ‘Daybreak’s’ release has been set as a milestone for vampires throughout the Empire. Rumours have also been circulating around giddy schoolgirls that Feurlis was going to make ‘Daybreak’ into a trilogy.

Other observations and quotes on Vampires:

"The vampire is a ruthless creature whose mind is more animal despite the human body it still inhabits. If you should see one, think not to find mercy from these savage beings." ~Skunder

"A vampire is a being cursed to hunger for the life-blood of other beings, and the only way to become a vampire was to be bitten by one and then be fed vampiric blood." ~Takesister

"Lord Arctic and his troops ... (were) shocked to find that the fortress along with the city of Perisville had been destroyed completely by the Vampire hordes..." ~Liongo

"It's a joke. We were feared. Men wanted our power. Women fawned over us and did Our bidding. We weren't pathetic besotted lovelorn fools who would drop everything for a woman, and we Do Not Sparkle." ~Barbarian-Fishy

"The vampire seemed equally destitute. Its garments were gaunt, and its grin was gummed in a grimace." ~SocialSurgery

[Treefolks as transcribed by the observer Skunder]

Finally, Guilm looked on with wild disbelief, recalling ancient stories which he had considered only faerie tales. As the armies of nature walked forward, the very trees seemed to uproot themselves, pulling their trunks up from the earth with a spray of dirt and the groaning of wood scraping against wood. The tree forms stretched up and outward, shaking off many millennia of hibernation. And now the gigantic forms marched along with the other ranks of nature’s army.

Guilm stood amongst the awakening woods as a child in a room where dreams were_reality, and any wish need only be asked to come true. The army of the Blooming Glade was awakened. The wind had served as the call of drums or horns issuing the soldiers to war.
Other observations and quotes on Treefolks:

"A deep voice echoed through the forest “Go, Knight. We’ll handle them” as vines and branches begun to attack the wolves." ~Takesister

"This ancient and mighty race used to rule the enchanted forest." ~merlin36
