I have and iPhone 3gs. i have had it for about 10 months, but just yesterday i dropped it in the toilet (no i wasnt playing on it while doing my business0 it fell out of my pocket, hit the edge of the toilet then fell in, I dried it out and it worked. But today the screen has shut off, i can use voice command to listen to music and text and call but the screen is not working. I have tried resetiing, turning off, slepping. Still does not work.
Can anyone help?!?!

turn your phone off, take it apart and put all the pieces into a bag of rice. wait for 2-4 days and put it back together. charge it, and then turn on.

toilets and electronics don't mix is the lesson to all here.
In the past my aunt had the same problem.
The main problem with a trip down the bog is that water (we hope only water ;) is forced where it shouldn't be. Drying the phone is important, this can be achieved by removing case and battery and leaving in a warm dry place for at least a day. If the phone is on at the time it went down, results may vary. The circuit boards are normally epoxy sealed, but the battery terminals may short, leaving you with a nice paperweight.
P.S. a warranty will NEVER cover misuse such as dropping your phone in water, this is what insurance is for... |
| well if it worked after dropping to wc i am suprised you havent got all water off and it have affected to some component its impossible to fix yourself |

rice bag is your best choice (it should be done within the first 48 hours after water contact for 1 or 2 days)
if that didn`t work, warranty (they probably would charge you for repairing it) or if you`re familiar with electronic boards you can open it up yourself and clean your board with a dry soft brush (e.g. tooth brush). if that didn`t solve it, your screen is most probably dead.
in which case replacing it with a new one (done by an expert) would charge you about 80 eu i think (maybe more !)
