Incentives for Reporting

AuthorIncentives for Reporting
I suggest the empire give an incentive to those who reports violations like staged combats and financial assist. So many players will be encouraged to do so.

1k gold is reasonable. :)
Well i see a lot of this and report it all, so i definately agree!

people can abuse this system.

one player can make some another account from another computer, then make illegal transaction/combat. then, he report with main account. he got gold. then, make another.

but, this maybe work for other case. if a military clan leader want all member of his clan clean, he can hire some player to 'monitor' the clan member activity.
sorry for double post, but I dont think that 1k will be seen as reasonable, so a bit lower and perhaps some kind of law enforcement guild?(Just an idea)
Well, it is not perfect system

1. Do a lot of multis

2. Do illegal transfers with them, without involving your main in those transfers at all

3. Report them with main

4. Free gold
-1 i would rather take cases to be watched first
-1 #5 has said why.

How about if it's based on the level of the character you are reporting?

for example:

lvl 1 - 10 gold
lvl 2 - 100
lvl 3 - 200
lvl 4 - 300

and so on. Is it still worth it to abuse it?
^^ that could be worth it, making it too much hassle to abuse it?
- 1 people would run after every low level person even for trivial violations rather than help them to correct it .

Why do players need to be encouraged to do so?
Based upon the incentives in #11, Empire owes me something like half a mil :)
Incentives for Reporting = Incentives for cheating. Nice try though...
hehe !
-1 dude.. will become a PART-TIME JOB ! :P
Why don't they just make incentives, but don't make them a sure thing? So after they have ensured that the reported character has broken the rules and that the character doesn't connect from the same IP as the reporter and then based on the level of offense that the offender made give the reporter a small compensation.

They could also limit the amount of times a character could get compensation in a given time. Of course they couldn't make any of this information completely public as to discourage cheaters and make them work harder for it.

They don't need to provide incentives for reporting players.

There are plenty of players willing to report cheaters without this monetary incentive. If the backlog of cheaters were dealt with and there was advertising out there for the game to replace those who are blocked etc. that would be incentive enough for many to continue reporting.

When you put a monetary reward in place, people will go into that section of the forum and start to make dozens of "lazy" reports... Such as, "look at this cheater xxxxx" without adding relevant evidence from transfer log, profile etc.

Also, what happens with duplicate reports? Say 5 people report the one player. Do they all get rewarded? Or do only the first player get rewarded? Do the administration then have to spend time they would usually spend on catching cheaters, deciding who gets a reward?[

Again, that creates more work for the admins who have to run these checks.
