Regarding your 2nd battle, here are my inputs.
You should have attacked black dragons with lizards. Dragons (and other tier-7 creatures) have high defense, which means Lizard Charge ability will come in really handy. Let your shrews attack the lizards. Also, it was not smart to keep shrews behind mino and get hit by Draconic Breath (shrews could have attacked and stayed, not attacked and returned).
And ignore what Acron said. He clearly has never done thief ambush and doesn't know that you don't get to see enemy units until the battle starts. You did very well by splitting up your shrews like that.
