how do counter attacks work? When do they occur? How can one prevent them? I can't, find any info on this anywhere. |
Each stack (group of troops on the field) retaliates (counter-attacks) only once per turn. Some special abilities allow a creature to retaliate twice per turn or always retaliate, others allow a creature to never (like griffins) be retaliated against (like vampires or shrews).
A tactical approach to this would be hitting a strong stack with a weaker stack (one bandit in your case) to waste the retaliation of the strong stack for it to not retaliate against your more powerful stacks, if they hit before the next turn of the opposing stack (as it would otherwise reset its retaliation status). |
(like griffins) part is for the etaliate twice per turn or always retaliate* |
all unit will auto counter on the ONLY 1st incoming troops melee attack. once counter used, it cant counter on the following incoming attack UNTIL the next turn it get.
succubi can counter attack on range BUT after it used the counter, it cant counter on any range or melee until next turn.
unit with unlimited retaliation (such as griffin) will allowed to always counter attack all incoming troops melee attack.
unit with no retaliation such as sprite will not trigger ALL unit counter attack; not even if the targeted unit has unlimited retaliation. so, targeted unit will still keep its counter attack until triggered. |
thankyou so much. That makes sense |
