I'm not expert in wiz, but I'd understand why any wiz would recruit the max possible gargoyles .. check out this battle .. I can't believe I lost it .. my biggest mistake was going after the golems with my incends instead of the gargs, and my opponent was a very good wiz:

with added mini arts, gargs with speed 9 and def are tough to beat .. and since wiz in general depend on their magic (and running away with their garg stack) or even might (with a big def of a garg stack that makes you feel you're hitting a wall) .. add to this that at any combat level, you can always recruit more gargs than gremlins .. hence the focus on recruiting gargs.

In my opinion, gremlins are far too vulnerable in comparison with gargs .. wiz depend on their defense whether magic or might .. gremlins may have few shots then they're wiped with any respectable attacking stack.
Just check the minor tournie results to know what is 'best' at each combat level.

@41 I expected master grem be first target, but i think they can take like 2 shots before die and save other unit with more damage to be the first target... Also Wizard hero will probbly do target on powerfull ranged units first.


I din't see any fail on your fight, but perhaps if you just ingnore golems and leave they alone and focus on sphyx + gargules, you should win this fight easy...

What golems will do? Nothing, nothing to attack, and can't use they to run too. So they will just waste a turn to come close to your units, and you will have time enough to finish the gargules... Don't forget only 11 gargules stand alive... It's a very close battle.

Gargules have a high defense and you can call they a wall, but they can't kill anything... units like ceberis... will be like a god agains't gargules...

Also i think you choose incendiarys like default army, with a army more faster and made to fight a magic wizard the battle should be more easy to you.


@40 This true, but at level 5 - 7, master grems are clear better... at level 8 - 9 still better at my opinion... So why never try use em? laziness, perhaps?

I din't said gremilies must be full stack, the main objective is look for better combination of wiz army.

Gremlins/master gremlins in any full arted battle are useless as, even if you had full grems recruited,they would be killed in about one or two shots from any unit from the opponent.

Also their range is useless because of low damage, attack,and range penalty, and may kill 3 or 4 enemy creatures at most.

Golems are very useful when upgraded because now in addition to having gargs as tanks, you have golems who have higher defense, and hp.
Well i have ask at the start why choose gargules than gremilies, and already got many answer.

So i notice they are more userfull on high levels... Mainly 10+

@44 I know they got a small damage, it's because wizard got a low attack parameter too...

The original ideia is trade gargules with gremilies to get more units.

Gargoyles are more important for a Wiz than poor Gremlins....

Yes, CL12 is the "glory" lvl for Barb in duels. :)
In 4th Minor Tour. 3 of 7 top players were Barbs, I speak with Erota and both agree that Holy Knight was the only real problem for a Barb in that tournament.

whatever it may be... the first step will be killing the Wiz ! :P
To win a FFA, just need three things.

Strategy to avoid the enemey focus, doing a small attack but without go with full head, because gonna lure atention.

Make everyone think the other is more strong than you and offer more risk to him.

Give a confiance to him like if you attack him i don't gonna betray you and attack you from behind...

If some one target you give a strenght response, to make he think two times before attack you again, but without make he lost the game, or he will target you till death.

Well who follow this better have high chances to win, don't matter which faction is.
what is the best faction in hunting?
best for hunting? in most cases elf(quick units&critical)...or knight (xbm), or de(shrews), or mage(hero spells)...depends...
I think necro can also be good with vamps and appas..
