i completed my mercenary guild's quest- elves,kinghts and wizard's conspirators successfully, and i only received 54 gold with no elements and the description was something similar to this: "Yeh, even the kids are afraid of u. u terrfiy them to death? anyways, the method was up to you. take the gold"
is this common? or did i do something wrong?

It was only conspirators one, so the gold reward was low (you could also see this before you accepted the quest).
And there is a 20% chance to get an element, also this has nothing to do with the quest.
And the sentence is just randomly generated, just look at the location and what you have to kill and ignore the rest :P | oh 20%...
