well, when you had reached the level 2 (combat level) you had chosen the Spell Power as primary skill whereas Knowledge...
In your case SP = More damages when Knowledge = 10 mana points per Knwoledge point.
You can use a potion of oblivion to reset your primary skill and chose the knowledge whereas spell power but this means 2500 gold!

| Spell Power makes your spells more effective while Knowledge gives you the ability to cast more spells. Depends what you need, but Knowledge is better in low levels |
Also, there are some artifacts (like hat of knowledge, scroll of energy) and talents (for example, intellect from erudition/education branch) which can increase your mana. But they aren't available now.
Also, there are some creatures which can or increase your mana during combat - like anchorites, or decrease cost af all spells (lorekeepers) and etc. |
