If you have used your Tavern Luck drink you can't join the standard CG battles.
This is because they are of the type "Shop Artifact Only", and the Tavern Luck Drink counts as a Non-shop Artifact.
I'm not sure about the FFA CG, which says "Any Artifact". I guess someone would have to test it to be sure.
