They don't increase recruitment. I've built them, but didn't use anywhere except vanguard of Wizards MG quest. |

not able to find them in most battles... (unless you want to max engineers and max golems and play repairing golem)

Honestly i don't believe gremlins of any sort to be of any use beyond lvl 2.
The repair ability of engineers is too weak (4 hp per gremlin, which is really low), at full recruit you can't even resurrect a full stack of golems; it can only be used once and cannot split (as in, use a stack of 20 gremlins to repair 4 times x 20 hp).
As of their shooting.. it's the worse in all game. Even goblin archers are better.
Their only interest could have been the high initiative. But what's the point of having a high ini if the thing can't move or kill? |
My character is level 14 with wizard faction 9 and I have still not built gremlins upgrade. If you don't know exactly what to do with them: Save the gold. |
The thing can't move? What are you talking about? It has 5 speed.
As a magic wiz, they are pretty useless. I like having one gremlin around to take retal for thieving, and their highish ini is good for that. In difficult hunts, 1-2 grems can be useful to repair a stack of golems after it dies, so that the AI has to waste another turn killing the golems.
As a might wiz, they aren't bad. Obviously if you compare magic with might, then they will be horrible. However, having played as a might wiz (briefly), I can say that they do reasonable damage. Since you can't take many of them, they aren't too powerful, but mini-arts give them insane stats for a tier 1 creature, especially the health mini-art.
I can say more, but the bottom line is there's no need to buy them if you are a magic wiz, but you should buy them if you want to be a might wiz. |
