What target will hit berserkers with madness if there are 2 or more at the same distance?
Looks like its random. Sometimes i attack enemy with highier count and highier hit point, sometimes enemy with lower count and hit points. Could be pretty annoying and in some fights is hard to use madness ability at all. Maybe there is any mechanics with picking targets for madness ability, but for me its really looks like random.

For me it looks like they attack based on AI priority given to the enemy. So it's like (shooters first, then casters, then melee).

Also take notice that when using "rune of intangibility" on your berserkers, AI will give them a very low priority and if given the chance it will attack other units.

I would say charge on him. You shouldnt wait, till he will throws all nasty spell on you. Focus horses and fiends. You can do nothing with tempresses, except you can reach them in first turn. But they are really not the biggest problem in DD army.

Do you want build upgrades ? Recruiting could be various. Someone is playing with more berserkers / brawlers, someone with more spearmen. I like max berserkers, max dreadbanes and ofc, max bears (bears are your key units, so just max it). I am not maxing priests, only take 4-5 for evasion buff. Rest of spearmen. Good for various tasks, like removing debuffs, stuns, mayhem ofc, etc. Or you can use diamonds and use maxed patriarchs. Try few setups and you will see.

For talents, it again depends what you want to play. I used holy talents and play as buffer for long time. It works good in survilurgs and can work good in group fights. Not bad in hunts and mercenaries too. But i have found it weak for duels and caravans (maybe its just me). Now i am using "luck setup" and it works not bad. I think, that dwarf is very good with luck talents. Or you can try play full defence build. I saw this build once in action and looks good. With all builds i always take "Spare rune". It just gives you a lot of tactical possibilities. With your low faction level its not so good, but later is really nice to have double rune use.

as i see you dont have money for upgrades, i would say:
max deathbanes, bears and priests.
Brawlers are weak until upgraded, spearmens wiht 2 shoots are also weak.

You dont need rally until you make some low level upgrades. Luck is a good choice

Any tips and strategies as a newly lvl 13 fsl 0 thief? I have a feeling I'll need to have a huge lose streak to gain any wins.
