AuthorClans
What is the benefit of being in a clan? I don't really see any benefits from this. There isn't even a clan chat or forum or something. Am i missing something?
Depends on the clan.

Generally, every clan has its rules. For example, "Lords" has some PvP rules and every member can play according to them. If someone breaks the rules he is kicked and the rest can play fair again. Since there are no rules on how you must join a battle, this clan aims to do that.

Other clans aim to organize Tavern games according to their own rules, for example doing card games only in GC, or other good locations. An example on this is "Arcomages Training Grounds" or something like that (sorry I can't easily remember that name".

Other clans tend to gather all thieves, in order to know which thieves are around (of course, you can see only the thieves who join them).

There are clans for the weirdest things you can ever imagine. There is a clan that gathers all the roulette gamblers who lost very much gold in roulette, that is "Roulette Victims" or something like that.

In general. Clans are mostly a title on your profile. When you are a member of a clan you show what you like in the game. If you are in Lords, it means you do PvP supporting their rules, if you are in arcomages it means you play Tavern games (organised or not). It's a way to show your preferences in the game and through your interface with other fellow lords.

In addition to that, many clans offer special bonuses to their members, special prices on rents, repairs etc.
Once you're in a clan, you have access to its in-game chat (to be honest, I've never seen any active chat out of events; we use instead Skype or such). As per the forum, most active clans have their own, though not supported by the game itself.

Millitary clans have special features; mainly a ranking system during events with rewards for the best ones.

If you enjoy doing PvP, you can issue clan limitations for teams; a must to make sure only your friend joins. That's an easy way to find out who at your level is online which is why many clans are gatherings of PvP players, hunters, thieves, gamblers,...

Some try to bring some fun through clan events. As for the rest, Hallion told it already.
