i do like this 'pvp-survival'-idea, but it needs some thinking through...
for example, who gets the first title? i mean the one everybody has to try to grab? a random player?

how about refusal reduces prize-money?
or brings it down to zero?
or, even more nasty, transfers the title and current prize to challenger
that last option would also give a player who gets the title (see my question above) the possibility to skip this whole thing, in case he/she doesn't like PvP or is camping or whatever |

Problem is that you could figure out when a player is most likely to be offline/asleep and challenge them at that time.
A quick look at their combat/transfer logs would give a good indication of when they are active/inactive.
You'd also need a way to find out who is the current holder so that you can challenge them, which could be interesting because it could change regularly. Maybe a link to a page under the "Battles" menu that takes you to a list of the current holders?

having a minor tourney every day is the wet dream of every PvP-er here, but for some reason I don't think that's gonna happen ;)
I agree with you that random player is a bad idea though... was just wandering what Tuna had in mind for the initial title-holder... |

When you challange him he get time when duel is in pm so he can come online and see it and if someone is going to be inactive hard to keep title. |
