AuthorNew combat type- Defend The Tower
I was thinking about a new type of combat. So this is what I’ve come up with.
Mission-In this combat type, each player would have a tower ( just like the ones we have in the survival tournament) and he/she would have to kill the enemy tower to win. And his/her tower cannot deal damage to the enemy tower. The tower can only be killed with a player's troops.
The Tower-The tower would have certain health, depending on the combat level of the player. It would have a low initiative, around 8 and would also have certain spells with a good spell power and 1000 mana. It would only use a spell when its turn comes.
The Spells(a)-The tower would have a new kind of a spell which would deal damage to any troop adjacent to the tower including the enemy as well as the allied troops so that if a player tries to cover the tower with his/her most defensive troops to protect the tower, the spell would weaken their own troops also, and so the enemy player can easily kill the rest of the army. This spell would be used by the AI and cannot be controlled by the player.
The Spells(b)-The tower would only use a different spell If there are no troops adjacent to the tower. In that case the player would get to choose any spell from a list of spells he would like to use with the tower. The list of spells would expand when a player goes to a higher combat level. (The list would include chaos, holy, nature as well as darkness)
If a player kill’s the enemy player’s troops but not the tower, the enemy tower would start losing health rapidly when its turn comes but would still be able to use the spells until it perishes completely
This is all I’ve come up with. I’ll be looking forward to hearing comments and further suggestions.

this is much like tavern. Only you use troops. There can be much better thing the adimns can implement. -1

Note- There are too many guilds and tournaments to spare time for Hunting and you talk about defend the tower, NEVER!!!
but not everybody likes to play tavern, so this would be an interesting type of combat for them. Oh but there are many other things they would want to try. No good player has time fter ranger guild, thieves guild etc. And then this is a boring type of game i think. -1

I think this type of game would be in favor of defensive factions like wizard. Like defend near tower and cast spells on the opponent's tower. And if a hero couldn't cast spells on enemy tower then this would disadvantage all magic builds. I think you should add something to balance these things you may come up with something interesting.
maybe the tower could have a magic shield of around 25%. So wizards won't deal as much damage as they possibly can. So wizards will have both an advantage and a disadvantage. Their advantage will be that they can defend near tower and their disadvantage will be that their spells would deal less damage than it would normally. And since the magic shield is only 25%, their magic builds won't be a waste for factions like wizard.
I suggest the tower doesnt have more than 200*CL of health or it will become too difficult to kill.

Another drawback of this tower fight will be-

I would rather like if these tower games are not for 1on1 but rather for team combats like 2x2 or 3x3
Also what pro_13 could introduce is the tower being a complete building. What i mean is this-

The towers defense can be regularly upgraded paying some gold say 2000 gold per defense. Max. Defense 3*CL
The towers hp can be regularly upgraded say paying 1000 gold per 25 hp. Max hp = 100*CL
The towers spells can be bought for say a specific cost for every type of spell like- 5000 for chaos, 5000 for nature etc.
The towers mana can be bought for say 1000 gold per 50 mana. Max Mana = 200*CL

The tower also has to be bought for 5000 gold and in the beggining it will have no spells, no defense and only 50 hp.

You can also introduce a Tower Defenders guild (TDG) so say for every tower defenders guild level, the upgrade cost decreases by 2%


This is only an example and is to be changed. It was only to enhance the idea into a good one. I am only listing the possibilities, the gold can be changed from here to there

yes all that seems like a good idea but 200*cl is too less especially for higher levels because they would be able to destroy the entire tower in 4-5 hits. Also in the beginning, I feel, everyone should get the tower for free however the upgrades will have to be bought as you mentioned. Overall I think your idea is pretty good.
ah but you must remember that a barbarian will be brilliant at this because of there cylops with the ability "besiege" (i think) it seems a bit unfair to implement this combat when barbs will completly dominate this every time, of cource they will only be at hight lvls tho :)

i feel this is way to cheap for 50 mana, plus you should be able to get spell power too

Maybe the ability 'besiege' can be removed from the cyclops in this combat.
or maybe the admins can do something else to balance out the factions
hmm, the main point i am disliking this idea is because-

1. There are too many maybe's. Take a stand bro
2.Reframe this whole thing, think about it for a few days and then if you re-post it may get better remarks

The reason I posted this in the forum was that my idea wasn't complete and so after posting it in the forum, people could further improve upon this suggestion just like the idea you gave me in post 9. Also the questions, people have asked me hadn't been in my notice until now. So people have given further suggestions to improve this idea I would reframe this whole thing in another post. But for now, I feel this idea can be improved further with the people's help.
