i just turned lvl6.I know that people join thieves guild at lvl6. So can i be ambushed if i travel on the map. Also if i do get ambushed, what can i do to protect my gold? |
yes, you can be ambushed. you have to win the battle to protect your gold. |
can resources be looted too?
i mean if i convert most of my gold into resources, can they be looted then??
also if i am ambushed, will i be ambushed by only lvl 6 or can i be ambushed by higher levels too? |
well i have never looted resources so i shall asume we cant lott them :) |
will i be ambushed by only lvl 6 or can i be ambushed by higher levels too?
You'll only be ambushed by players of your own level I think |
You can be ambushed by 2 players or ambush randomly with a player higher than your lv |
Even if you transform all you gold in resources, you'll still be looted, and then your total gold will become negative.
Even if you are already on the negative you still can be looted, and then your total gold will become even more negative...
The only way to avoid beeing looted is to buy a drake mount from the store, or ... win the ambush and kill your thief.
Good luck! |
will i be ambushed by only lvl 6 or can i be ambushed by higher levels too?
only your level.
can resources be looted too? no but even if you have zero gold u can still be looted and go into negative. |
ok one last question
if i lose a battle then what formula decides how much gold is looted from me?? |
Its not a lot of gold it is from 40-110 the formula Dont remember |
Either it is thief AI caravans or player ambushes, the amount of gold can be precisely estimated. We all know about the TG level that multiply the looted gold, but what is that base gold which will be multiplied?
For TG 2 and further the amount of looted gold is pretty clear, loot gold = (TG level) x base loot gold.
I found out that there are ONLY 5 discrete values for the base gold which can be looted; i'll show in a short table the values:
TG0--|--TG1--|--TG2 to 12
26---|---38--|----44-----
28---|---44--|----50-----
32---|---48--|----56-----
36---|---52--|----62-----
38---|---58--|----68-----
That's for AI caravans, and the progress rate for each of the base gold is different (+3 for TG0, +5 for TG1 and +6 for TG 2+) regarding the fact that there are no odd loot gold!
In case of a player ambush, those numbers are slightly higher as follows:
TG0--|--TG1--|--TG2 to 12
32---|---48--|----56-----
36---|---54--|----64-----
40---|---60--|----70-----
44---|---66--|----78-----
48---|---72--|----84-----
with a different progress rate too (+4 for TG0, +6 for TG1 and +7 for TG 2+).
So, either you are a TG2 thief or a TG12, you'll loot gold starting from the base 10 values (AI or player), nothing else. I'm talking here about the current thiefing system, not what was in the past.
Statistically, we can see in thiefing today (TG 12 max) only those 2 extreme values: 26 gold (for a fresh new thief looting minimum of those 5 base values) and 1008 gold (for an experienced TG12 thief who had the fortune to ambush a player and get maximum base gold 84).
I don't know the exact formula applied to all TG levels, but it will be good to post here is someone found/know it.
PS: the tables present just the base gold (or call it fixed coefficient if you like), for the actually max looted gold, the numbers are 38, 58 (TG 0 and 1), then they start multiplying (136, 204, 272 etc.)

thanks a lot |
I believe that information only applies to the thief not the person that is ambushed. |
for KnightofDusk:
The below table by crys41 applies both to thief(who loots the gold from player or a win) and ambushed player(who looses the gold if lost)
In case of a player ambush, those numbers are slightly higher as follows:
TG0--|--TG1--|--TG2 to 12
32---|---48--|----56-----
36---|---54--|----64-----
40---|---60--|----70-----
44---|---66--|----78-----
48---|---72--|----84-----
with a different progress rate too (+4 for TG0, +6 for TG1 and +7 for TG 2+).
The amount of gold looted is different from the amount of gold gained by the thief for a win in an ambush with a player/caravan. |
