Author | Hybrid setup mode in tournaments |
As an elf, I tend to not want my troops rushing up in tournaments, only to get wreck by the opposing army (elks usually go first) To try and avoid this, I put myself in the "Defense" setup, only to have the entire battle ruined by my efks defending EVERY single time. There should be a stance in-between attack and defense, able to not have your troops rush up, but not defend the majority of the time. |

I assume you're talking about quick tournaments.
I've seen people blocking their EFKs with druids so the EFKs must wait a few turns before they are able to move. Hope that helps. |
In quick tournaments I use my druids to encompass my elven bowmen though :/ |
+1 |
you have to plan for this... just surround efk with druids or something.. maybe put them in corner and set up like this? (this is assuming you get left side and bottom slot)
elf bows/ empty
empty / empty
empty / sprite
empty / druid
empty / druid
empty / druid
efk/ druid
(bottom of battlefield)
this way efk have to run up and around driud and cant run out soo far. See? they have to run up 4 spaces b4 they can move forward. I hope this isnt too hard to understand and helps you out. you can also do this for any other corner on the battlefield.. you just have to rearange a litle bit :) |
I don't think that good an idea. In this setup too the defense and offense will be random. Would you like it if your efk are right in front of a weak tank (eg. 50 crossbow), and you had to attack it, but the efk defends? Slayer is right, you can just change the troop settlement. And don't worry about elven...they'll die anyway by other shooters.
Regards
Hope it helped :) |
Please try and stay on topic. I&S is not the place for discussions or questions regarding strategies for particular factions. There are dedicated areas for this.
+1 for idea.
I don't often let AI fight for me but agreea setting between asleep / suicidal would be useful. |
no need for another mode.
if you know what AI does with your troops in off/def mode you can handle these battles fairly well. And it takes only handlfull of attempts to figure out how it works.
Adjust your strategy/troop settlement. It is possible to force your high ini troops to stay back even in offensive mode. |
it's more annoying that my gargoyles don't run xP |
